The Fisheries Museum is probably the premier attraction in Lunenburg other than the city itself and it's layout and old buildings. You start by going through a small aquarium to orient you to local fish. There are exhibits of old fishing boats and their gear as well as some demonstrations of old crafts. The museum also has an old trawler - the Cape Sable - you can visit to see how fishermen lived.

We like to think of it as an adventure in realism. You get a true taste of the salty life at sea! Thanks for the recommendation!

This museum really tells the story of the Lunenburg fishermen and their lives. There's also a small aquarium.

Everything. We took our grandchildren and they had the best time running all over the place fascinated by every display and the live exhibits.

When here with my daughters grade 1 class. The staff were great with the kids. They do need a few new displays as its the same as I remember it from 15 years ago lol
