We had a suite in the first row (about 8 units) of attached units of this small, family-run hotel. We had booked for 3 nights based on TripAdvisor, and then extended it to 4 nights. We will stay here again and have recommended it to our families.
The suite was a comfortably sized bedroom with 2 Queen-sized beds. There was a tv and a small stereo system in the bedroom.
The bathroom had a good-sized jacuzzi half-moon shape tub, with a single-person seat at one side. Our children (under 9) loved sharing the jacuzzi. It could sort-of be used as a shower as well, as there was a handheld shower nozzle that latched onto the wall. (We didn't really try to shower.) and there was a full shower curtain.
The bathroom electrical socket was a GFCI--the safe kind that will stop the power if the hair dryer falls into water, etc.
The towels were nice. The toiletries were the minimum, but that's ok there's a grocery store with everything basic you might want only a 2 minute walk away.
There was a living-dining room, the kind where one end of the room is the living room and the other is the dining room. The dining room had a nice oak table for 5. The couch pulled out into a double bed. However, although it was fine for our child, I would not want to sleep on it as an adult. It would be too thin a mattress. Our child however was very comfortable. And the couch was comfortable to sit on. There were a few basic chairs to sit on, not particularly padded. There was a tv. We didn't stay inside enough to watch much!
The kitchen was very well equipped! As well as a dishwasher (!), full-size fridge and apartment-sized stove (1 large burner, 3 small), and microwave, toaster, and coffee maker, and a kettle to heat on the stove, there was a full set of dishes, glasses, wine glasses, cutlery, utensils including a whisk, and lots of pots and pans. There didn't seem to be a cookie sheet, but I'm sure we could have borrowed one, if needed. We made many meals and I didn't find anything missing. They even had fresh dish towels and dish clothes daily, and they provided the dish soap and disherwasher soap. And there was even salt and pepper handy! Some coffee was provided, but we preferred to takeout from the Tim Hortons a 5 minute walk away.
We drove downtown as we intended to walk a lot once there. It's at most a 5 minute drive downtown.
There is one washer (price $2 per load when we were there) and one dryer (price ???maybe 1.50 per load when we were there) located near the office. Like most apartment washers and dryers they did the job but I wouldn't wash delicates etc in them!
This is NOT the place to go if you like to stay up late making noise. It's meant for people who want quiet and are respectful of their neighbours need for sleep and peace.
Oh, and there was a doe and fawn deer feeding on the grass one evening. And blue jays. And a peach or apricot tree loaded with fruit.
I'm probably forgetting something, but overall it was great. And very clean.
