Owner description: In Maple Ridge BC, people ages five to adult enjoy outdoor adventure games in the tree-tops. The popular Monkido aerial obstacle courses include dozens of suspended obstacles and zip-lines. Guests move at their own pace across tightropes, plank bridges, swinging logs; cargo nets, tree ladders, and more surprises - six to 60 feet (2-18m) above ground! Demonstration is included; no experience is necessary - just the ability to "monkey-see, monkey-do"! ...Thrill seekers test their mettle with a What's To Fear Jump (WTF Jump), a 40-foot loose-line leap from high perch to forest floor.

This was so much fun - a bit nerve wracking getting used to doing it without staff supervision, but I had a great time and I'll definitely find an excuse to go back. Only thing is that it's kinda far from, well, everything (like all of Maple Ridge), so maybe make it a day trip and have a picnic/swim/boat/camp up in Golden Ears Park or somewhere else unless you're a local. Also (only slightly related) watch out for horses on the roads in that part of M.R. We saw one car come maybe two or three metres from smashing straight in to a horse and rider at the last second... But it's not like there isn't time and space to pass if you're not driving like a crazy person.

We went as a family and enjoyed the challenge. It can get busy and you end up waiting a bit to do the next obstacle, but it did not bother us it gave us a bit of a break in between!

i love the fact that its all self guided! at one part of the training, the staff was looking at one end of the training coarse when A LOT of people were making dangerous mistakes at the beginning and the staff couldn't correct them so they have a bigger chance of risk on the actual coarse. other than that, me and my dad had a blast! definitely recommend it if you have a tourism challenge pass. you get to go on for FREE on weekdays! great for adults too! the ancient art of monkeying around is in my blood now that i have gone to wildplay!

It's not legally binding for a parent to sign a waiver for a minor child. The BC child protection law takes precedence. I hope the staff understand this. Waivers for children are just a technique to mislead unsophisticated parents and guardians.

Hello Yabva:

Our waiver, like the demonstration at the start of our Monkido Aerial Adventure, is part of a system we use to inform and educate guests - and/or those responsible for their care - about potential risks that could arise while participating in our Elements. Our youngest guests are unprepared to read and comprehend the important safety information we share via our waiver, which is why we ask parents or guardians to verify via signature that they are aware of any issues their minors may encounter.

You are correct about waiver-related law in BC, which is why it is just one way we promote safety in our Parks - along with employee training and disclosure, guest training and demonstration, signage, and more methods to help guests manage their risk.

Thanks for your feedback!

Great place to go with your family and try to challenge yourself. I was very surprised to see my daughter actually finishing the entire course! Surprised and very proud of her. I saw fear in her eyes, but she did overcome it and she made it!
Great feeling when you suddenly discover that your child is better than you. I was soooo happy for her.
Highly recommend to everyone. We come here every spring or summer from year one it was opened and it gets better and better every time. A bit overpriced though, to my opinion.
