Our family has been to this resort at least a dozen times often staying for many nights at a time. The location and rooms I really have no complaints it really is a beautiful resort. It is the staff and management I have a problem with and also the cleanliness of this hotel. I was there for New Years this year and was not impressed with the service I found wait staff very rude at times. Breakfast hostess hostile which I did have to tell her not to be rude to me. Bartender was also quiet rude when I asked for a seperate bill for 2 families. It feels to me that they think they are doing you a favour by serving you. Hallways and elevators were filthy and not cleaned or vacuumed ,dishes were left for days in the hallways with dirty diapers. Pool area was not cleaned towels were everywhere as well as garbage. Someone told me they were understaffed while we were there but on other visits when it was slow we also experienced old dishes in the hallways and pool area not cleaned. Also watch out for your bill at the end I always have to have it changed at every visit it is never correct. It is very sad that service is not what it should be but they really need a good manager who cares about the hotel and it's customers.

Great property and location, we stayed twice. Rooms are larger than some Toronto condos, very well maintained, beautifully decorated. It is nice to sleep when fireplace warms up your feet. Pullout sofas are comfortable.

Front Desk team is very cheerful and helpful. In January 2013 apple cider near reception was delicious, but during second day of our stay was not available. In October 2013 no drinks were in the pot, we were told that they will refill but it never happened.

Restaurants provide delicious food, good service. Sometimes it is slow but "what is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare?". Every time servers advised food preparation times pretty accurately. We then went to make photos in beautiful hallways, meeting space, in the lobby.
For lunch at Cottages we chose $50 combo for 4 but noticed that not all ingredients were in salad. Server did not bring cutlery and we had to ask for 2-3 times to bring spoons etc.
We had breakfast in well equipped kitchen of our guest room.
Many corporate groups hold functions at the resort and book large dinner tables. In the middle of Teca restaurant a group of 10+ people was pretty loud. Waiter offered a table next to them, in front of open kitchen, but we opted for a quieter booth near side wall.

We were late for exercise walk in the morning but joined a fun, cognitive nature walk. The weather was sunny.

Swimming pool is one of main reasons we go there. Wear ESP Extra Strong Polyester swimwear for hot tub - as many others it can ruin nylon items. View is beautiful, pool not too chlorinated. Fresh air swim does miracles to skin. Changing rooms have coded locks, truly convenient for pool use after checkout; showers, bins for towels and overall interior are lovely even there.

Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway. :-)

Room Tip: water view is more expensive - during 1st visit we had 2 rooms on middle floors: one lake view, another one facing opposite side. during 2 days winter stay we did not look outside of the windows much - 2nd stay was in fall, our corner suite balcony faced hotel entrance but we could see a tiny bit of lake. At check in we went to a balcony to make photos and enjoy beautiful leaves

this hotel is in a beautiful location. Very quiet and pleasant. Bar staff not very knowledgeable with menu items. Loved the large room with kitchen, and the oversize balcony was beautiful. Wish I could have stayed longer. Highway directions were very confusing, taking you the long way."

Breakfast was exceptional with my favorite smoked salmon.

Here for an office Xmas party recently. The rooms are large, equipped and very nicely appointed. Great in/out pool, great view of the lake. Well run and great staff. A great sleep for sure. Not a cheap place to stay but some deals there at certain times. $30 to valet park the car a bit steep but the parking lot is quite a hike and it was -25C.

Room Tip: end of the hall rooms less noise

We've been going here for the past 4 years at Christmas and its been absolutely excellent every time. Service is superb and I want to especially mention SUSHANTO who is just incredibly helpful. This year we had a wonderful person who would help with bags and all called MORGAN - superb!

I'm 8.5 months pregnant but just 2 nights at the hotel did more to make me relax than anything else- kudos to the team at JW Marriott.

My 6 year old was entertained with snow showing, dog sledding, stuff your own animal, candy kebabs and all sorts of other things!

The ONLY thing they need to seriously work on before next Christmas is:
1) installing a fully functioning ice rink - it's sad they don't have one.this is the only reason I gave it 4/5 for location.
2) the menu at Cottages is seriously in need of a change - this pub like food just doesn't go with the JW name and theme of this place.
