One of the best designed hotel rooms I've stayed in, especially the bathroom - with a bath long enough to lie down in. Very comfy bed and excellent little "kitchen" unit with everything you could need for self-catering. We had a side balcony with a lovely view out to the lake. Lovely outdoor pools (we only tried one), fabulous location and views. Ate on terrace and in Teca - high standard of food in both. Friendly and willing service throughout the hotel, all staff showed care for the guests. When he heard I was a little doubtful about the success of the concept of my main course (though it was expertly cooked and I wasn't actually complaining) the chef came to discuss it and gave us a large complimentary dish of basil ice-cream (delicious!)
We were not warned by our travel agent that we would be charged an additional CAD20 a day "resort fee" - this seems a bit of a cheek, as you have to pay it regardless of whether you use the facilities. And I was glad we were there before high season - even so, the neighbouring room had a loud party late into the night. But that wasn't the hotel's fault and they dealt with it very firmly when we reported it.
Only disappointment was that the weather was too hot to try out the fireplace!More
