“A Canadian Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012

Was placed in a large room with a balcony. Everything was well maintained. Beautiful setting and views everywhere.

The hotel's decor and furnishings seem to truly live up to a Canadian style. For example our bedroom lamp was shaped after a tree branch.

Staff was extremely kind and caring from the front desk to the doorman. They also have a little shuttle that can take you from the parking lot to the front door if you have any luggage.

They have a large platform that I went fishing off of but it was out of season for the time I was trying.

Small tip, if your hotel rate contains any time of bonus make sure you print a copy before staying here. Our rate included welcome drinks (a minor expense in comparison to the rate) however the hotel could not see this. When I showed them the printout from the Marriott webpage after booking however they apologized and honored the promotion without question.

Visited for one night in December with our kids. Hotel was not very busy as it was prior to the Christmas holiday but the hotel once again exceeded our expectations.

We had a lake view room with King bed and pull out couch. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The washroom was clean and well appointed. The kitchenette came in very handy for us. We had previously stayed in a one bedroom suite and were pleasantly surprised by the space and amenities in the standard king room.

The property did have some activities for the guests that were tailored around the winter weather. In addition to the activities, the pool, games room and spa offer enough things to do to stay busy for a few days.

We once again had a nice meal at Teca and a great buffet breakfast at Cottages.

Overall a different experience than in the summer but the location, views, activities and service make this one of our favourite destinations in Ontario.

We enjoy this hotel and look forward to coming back in the very near future.

Would highly recommend this hotel for relaxation. In the middle of nowhere. Beautiful installations, very food... Everything typical of a 5 star hotel. Daily activities program for the kids and adults. If your plan is to relax or a romantic getaway, this place is perfect.

Thanks to the beautiful ambiance of Red Leaves ,my partner and I were able to have a wonderful birthday celebration on Dec 3 & 4th. The resort was tastefully decorated for the Holiday Season which gave it a festive air. Our comfortable one bedroom accommodation was luxuriant , with a tray of cheeses , crackers ,mineral water compliments of the management greeting us upon our arrival. Gourmet food was served at the main dining room, never tasted more succulent bison. As it was off season , the quietness of the resort lent itself to reading in the lounge by a blazing fireplace , and service a la carte was tout suite with a smile . Red Leaves in the beginning of Dec has become an annual event , and it renewed my faith in Muskoka hospitality.

We are a family of four who recently stayed at the Rosseau. We were part of a hockey tournament and I honestly didn't know what to expect as the team booked the hotel. On our arrival we were in awe. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. The rooms were clean, new, roomy and styled to suit. This place is absolutely gorgeous! We definately plan on going back. The room had a full kitchen. My only regret is that I didn't bring along any grocieries for breakfast and lunch. By the front desk there is complimentary hot cider and later I learned that they also have marshmellows that you are able to roast right outside the lobby. If I didn't have any plans this Christmas or New Years I would definately consider going up to Rosseau Lake once again this year. My family is pretty picky especially my husband. We were all equally impressed by this resort.

We had our company Christmas dinner party at this resort. The hotel is gorgeous, the staff are very friendly & efficient. The buffett dinner was very good. The rooms are wonderful except our room was over the front entrance area & the eavestrough above had a huge hole in it & dripped LOUDLY all night long. As well, several large icicles crashed down outside our room onto the terrace throughout the night due to the warming temperatures & constant rainy weather. Needless to say we did not have a restful night at all. Unfortunately, it ruined our overnight getaway :(

Room Tip: Lake facing rooms would be better (we hope)

I have heard of this Resort before and always wanted to drive up and check it out. Well it just so happened my company booked it for a conference. I was not disappointed. I wish I could come back in the prime summertime when everything would be bustling.
Be prepared to open up your wallet for the bar drinks and A la carte dining, it is an Ontario premiere JW MARRIOTT hotel and spa located in the much desired area called Muskoka or beter known as the vacation capital for Torontonian's.
As far as conference facilities it was right up there as I generally go to three major ones in the USA and this was definately on par with them.
Our negotiating committee dropped the ball with free internet and it would have cost $16.00 plus tax per 24 hour period. I thought that was too much as we were the only ones at the resort and they could have given it to us.
The staff were the hardy one's who decided to remain in Canada on work permits from of all places, Barbados for the winter. They were all very friendly.

Room Tip: I don't think there was a bad room in the place. But if I came again in the summer I definately...
