Description: One of the most popular restaurants in Tremblant’s pedestrian village, Le Shack stands on the original site of the Chalet des Voyageurs, built by the legendary Joe Ryan in 1939 at the foot of the south side of Mont Tremblant. Philadelphia-born Joe Ryan was an eccentric millionaire and a visionary. With encouragement from his wife Mary and a parish priest, Father Deslauriers, Ryan founded the second ski resort in North America: Mont Tremblant Resort. During the 1940s and 50s, the Chalet des Voyageurs was the preferred meeting place of skiers, who’d congregate after a day on the slopes to swap stories with friends. With its warm and cozy atmosphere, Le Shack carries on this tradition of offering the best après-ski in Tremblant. The “Shack” – so named for the Quebec “sugar shack” in tribute to the longstanding tradition of shacks erected for the spring maple syrup season – recreates the spirit of good times with good friends. To honour Joe Ryan and perpetuate the tradition of the sugar shack, the folks at Resto-Bar Le Shack welcome you for your après-ski gatherings at the foot of Mont Tremblant.

“Great 'apres-ski' spot...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

Definitely the place to be after a good of skiing. The 'apres-ski' happy time is between 3-6pm and unless you get there around 4pm you'll have a hard time getting a seat, or even a space at the bar. Get a pitcher of beer - whatever brand is on deal - ands save money! The service between 3 - 6pm can be slow, but enjoy the scenery and the beer. The burgers & ribs are really good (the Big Shack burger is the best) and so is the Joe's Philly roast beef sandwich is the best! Take out is possible and so is left overs for the hotel room. Great flavoured & specialty coffees, but the desserts are not worth it! Have been here many times and certainly plan to return. Great gathering place with friends.

“A must see at Tremblant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

A pillar of the Tremblant apres-ski scene and a great place for a delightful lunch or dinner in a very convivial atmosphere. Whether it<s to meet friends or settle in to the vibrant ski life style of Tremblant , the Shack is a must see. The staff is cheerful and helpful about all things ski. Whether it<s to direct you to a destination on the mountain or to fill you in on the ski conditions for tomorrow, they can be counted on to help out.The owner is in the house which is always a good sign. He<s busy talking to old friends or greeting first time skiers. All in all the Shack and Tremblant are synonymous with a real Quebec ski holiday.

“Great place, very atmospheric”

Good food, service and value. Great staff make such a difference to any eating experience and this place is not to be missed particularly as it is so close to the bottom of the south face ski runs.

“Best Beer at Tremblant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

Looking for a draft beer after skiing? Are you the reliable Bud/Blue type that frowns at warm beer? Le Shack is undeniably the finest bar at the hill. The staff will serve you with a smile, even on their busiest days. Check them out!
