Description: One of the most popular restaurants in Tremblant’s pedestrian village, Le Shack stands on the original site of the Chalet des Voyageurs, built by the legendary Joe Ryan in 1939 at the foot of the south side of Mont Tremblant. Philadelphia-born Joe Ryan was an eccentric millionaire and a visionary. With encouragement from his wife Mary and a parish priest, Father Deslauriers, Ryan founded the second ski resort in North America: Mont Tremblant Resort. During the 1940s and 50s, the Chalet des Voyageurs was the preferred meeting place of skiers, who’d congregate after a day on the slopes to swap stories with friends. With its warm and cozy atmosphere, Le Shack carries on this tradition of offering the best après-ski in Tremblant. The “Shack” – so named for the Quebec “sugar shack” in tribute to the longstanding tradition of shacks erected for the spring maple syrup season – recreates the spirit of good times with good friends. To honour Joe Ryan and perpetuate the tradition of the sugar shack, the folks at Resto-Bar Le Shack welcome you for your après-ski gatherings at the foot of Mont Tremblant.

“Our Saving-Grace!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2012

It was pretty late by the time we decided to go eat. Without going in to detail my husband fell in the swamp right by the parking lot so we had to go all the way back to our resort so he could shower. We finally made it back to parking around 9:30pm. Most of the resturants on the hill were closed by then. We slowly made our way to the top and Le Shack was still open and decently priced so we went in. There were only 2 other tables being used when we entered and they were pretty much done their meals.

We ordered the Nacho Blackcombe for an appetizer and it was really delicious. What we liked was that the salsa was served warmed (in Ontario it's served cold.) A nice change considering you're eating nachos that have just had cheese melted on to them. It was really delicious! Also liked the fact that they used white cheddar instead of yellow.

My husband and Dad got the "Big Shack" burger and he said it's one of the best burgers he's ever eaten. The fries were really good too ... homemade ... not that bagged garbage you see at most places. I just had a club sandwich which was delicious. It's simple ... not really any way you can screw that up! The mayo came in a package which was weird but normal in Quebec. (Most places in Ontario they put the mayo right on the sandwich.) My Mom had the french onion soup and as a born and bred Quebecois she said it was really good too!

Our waitress was amazing! Considering it was late and there wasn't another person in sight, she didn't seem annoyed or eager to get out of there and she wasn't rushing us. She was really friendly and attended to all our needs! I guess because we were the only ones in there but still! Yes it was your typical bar-food but that's just what we were looking for and the service was great!

“Would not go back”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 21, 2012 via mobile

Not impressed with this restaurant at all. $13 for a pot of salsa and some chips! I had a salad with my meal and It made me ill. Not sure if it was unwashed lettuce or the dressing. Service was not great considering it was not busy.

“The least favorite of all we tried in the Village”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2012

Maybe it was a bad day or something, but we did not like the food, the service or the atmosphere here. Way too loud, average food that cost too much and service that was not around enough. Like wanting to get a second beer and not seeing the waiter until I had totally finished my meal. We did like Casey's and the Micro Brewery which I would say are comparable to this place, and we would go only to those and not here in the future.

“Typical bar food. Nice outdoor seating”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2012

A beautiful day made for a long wait for a table outside. The location is prime right in the square. The Inside is cool with fake trees and lights but we chose to wait and sit outside.
It was just what we expected - good greasy bar food :) ( if you have fries or onion rings ask ofe shack sauce it's yummy )
We loved the nachos with guacamole a great burger and club house sandwich. The coleslaw is great and the lemonade is really good as well. Service was ok considering how packed the place was. They gave the kids st Patrick's day "hats" and we enjoyed it.
