Description: One restaurant, two experiences; the Bistro-Bar of La Forge offers a seasonal menu, with something for every taste, for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is welcoming and the bar is right in the middle of the big room… from which you can admire the mountain and ski slopes on one side and on the other, Place St-Bernard in the centre of Tremblant’s pedestrian village. On the second floor, The Grill of La Forge offers truly excellent cuisine. Specializing in meats grilled over maple-wood coals, it provides the charm of yesteryear both on your plate and in the luxurious décor of wood, leather and wrought iron that makes the atmosphere so warm and lush. An amazing wine cellar, awarded the the Prix Excellence from Wine Spectator (2 glasses) awaits you.

“Average Food, Poor Service”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

My family (a party of 4) dined at this restaurant. Big mistake! The service was poor, so much so, we thought we were unwelcome. The food was very average, certainly nothing to rave about. I've had better food and service at some non-descript holes-in-the- wall favored by locals. In sum, average food, poor service, and a big bill. You can do a lot better.

“Great dinner...$$$$”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

really great meal here, but expect to pay for it!
Main entrees start at $30 and go up from there, you have to order your sides seperately...usually 1 side feeds 2 (maybe3) people, they range from $8 and up.
Really good wine selection and very nice ambience.
Make sure you book a reservation well in advance!

“Excellent steakhouse upstairs”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

This restaurant has two separate parts - as others have noted. Downstairs is a bistro, upstairs is a more upscale steakhouse; this review deals with the latter.
They've recently changed the menu to the traditional steakhouse format - i.e. price involves the meat alone and you order your sides separately, including sauces, potatoes and vegetables. There are pros and cons to that format - I used to be more critical of that, but in a steakhouse where the focus is on the meat dish, I have come to see the logic of it.
The atmosphere upstairs is lovely - with views of either the mountain or the pedestrian village. Service is friendly and helpful, we particularly enjoy expanding our wine knowledge with the help of the sommelier Francois. Appetizers were really good, especially the elk carpaccio, which was extremely flavourful - and a generous portion too. Happy to see a foie gras appetizer on the menu as well! The filet mignon was excellent - hubby and I tried each of the three main sauces- my favourite was the béarnaise, hubby said it was a three way tie. Dinner here is always an enjoyable event - relaxing and lovely for a date night.
