We stayed for 1 week at this wonderful hotel. Overall it is a great 5* hotel with all of the amenities you would expect and more.

Pros

1. The rooms are all ‘suites’. Actually, some of the rooms are suites i.e. separate living/bedrooms but not all. That said, our executive suite (Room 112) was one huge room with defined living/sleeping areas but no walls in between. It was simply gorgeous. Others have mentioned the log fires – incredible and romantic addition to the room. The furnishings are all good quality and the room and bathroom were very clean. Good view of the lake but also a rather good view of the car park. If this is going to bother you (it did not bother us) ask for a room in the middle of the hotel as all the end rooms share this view.
2. Good wardrobe space with plenty of real coat hangers (not the annoying ones which are hooked on to the rings in the wardrobe).
3. Tea and coffee making facility in room with fresh milk in the fridge.
4. Fantastic large bathroom with full size bath, double sink, good power shower in separate cubicle. Nice Aveda toiletries (Shampoo, Shower Gel, Conditioner, facial wash, body lotion and soaps).
5. Comfortable and huge bed, wonderful soft cotton sheets and the best pillows in the world.
6. The bar is very nice and drinks come with bar snacks (peanuts). One point about the bar – not so good in the day. Actually, there was no one around in the day so it did feel you were sitting in a bar that had closed. At night, it was wonderful, relaxing but still with enough people to create a bit of a buzz. The restaurant serves wonderful, top quality food – think Michelin stars and you are there. I am vegetarian and they cooked a superb risotto one evening and a wonderfully rich mushroom pasta dish on another night. Exquisite food and a wonderful restaurant. Breakfast was fantastic – both cooked food made to order and the buffet.
7. The Q is an exquisite hotel with pricing to match. However, this hotel was excellent value for money
8. Location – could not be better 5 minutes walk from the centre of the resort.
9. Very helpful concierge and staff. Special thanks go to Genevieve, Catherine and Eric.
10. Foyer very luxurious and a lovely place to sit down, read the papers, have a coffee etc. there is also a pc on a desk where you can access emails etc.
11. The swimming pool is outdoors with a hot tub/spa pool attached. I found this a wonderful experience but others may not like going out in the cold in winter months.
12. I have left this last but really it is the most important thing – the staff. They are so wonderful, completely customer focused and genuinely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Even prior to arrival they were extremely helpful sorting out our restaurant choices, ski equipment rental etc. Once again, my sincere thanks to Genevieve for her unfaltering customer service, enthusiasm and care.

Cons

Breakfast was included in out package including coffee/tea. However, just a bit annoying that if you prefer to have a cappuccino, they charge you $5.50 + Tax and tip. Worked out about $7 for a cappuccino – bit much I think and really, it costs nothing more than big pot of regular coffee. If you are going to make charges on top of what is already an expensive breakfast – let people know.

Would I go back? Absolutely. It is without doubt one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay in and overall, extremely good value for money.

Quintessence is a unique opportunity to experience total relaxation.

The service is is absolutely magnificent and you get treated like a king. Staff members are perfectly trained and attentive. Unlike most business, communication between staff members is excellent as we have rarely seen.

The food is totally incredible, with the finest ingredient and chef. We were delighted at the presentation and the quality of the restaurant.

We have experienced one of the most amazing time of our lives going to the Hotel Quintessence.

I recommend the experience to anyone seeking a great time out of town.

This is truly a dream life.

Ok this is the place to stay if you go to Mont Tremblant.

It's an high end hotel with only suits, we stay for 2 nights with my girlfriend, well it's an expensive place to stay but it worth it!

We had brunch on Sunday and it was terrific, dinner at night, the menu was great and if you like cheeses they probably have the best choice in town! just amazing

We loved the fireplace in the suits, it's so relaxing when it's snowing outside

the only issue was maybe the massage that we had in the room that wasn't as expected but I am kind of picky with that

Jan 4th to Jan 7th

My husband and I were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. We flew with Porter Airlines out of Toronto direct to Mont Tremblant where we were greeted by Steve our private driver for the hotel. He was a wealth of information and very helpful in every aspect. The Mont Tremblant Airport is actually a log cabin Chalet, truly beautiful.

We were greeted by the concierge at the hotel and quickly taken to our room where Steve showed us our amazing Q suite with fireplace, heated bathroom floors and awesome king size bed. This room took our breath away. Steve also lit the fireplace for us.

The jacuzzi was heavenly after a day on the slopes, they have Avenda products for your use, we especially enjoyed the bath salts each day. The turn down service with chocolate mints was also a very special touch we looked forward to after our dinners each night.

We ate at several restaurants, but our most memorable dinners were at La Forge and Coco Pazzo. Both outstanding in service. The Q's breakfasts were also something I looked forward to each morning. They serve a continental (pastries, cereals, fresh fruit) plus you get to pick one item off the menu - choices are extensive but we tried pancakes, french toast (my favorite), omelets and the croissant with scrambled eggs. We also enjoyed english breakfast tea and fresh juices.

We prebooked our ski rental online before Nov 15th to save 1/2 price (this also included free ski valet service). They gave us Soloman boots and ski's and then we hit the Gondala. It takes 8 minutes to travel from bottom to top on a good weather day. However yesterday during a snow storm with crazy winds it took 20 minutes. But the fresh powder and empty slopes were well worth the wait.

I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. It is expensive but it's so worth every penny. Clagetts cabin is so cute and I wanted to take a peek but it was occupied and had a sign placed across the bridge asking for privacy. But I'd love to stay in the cabin during the summer one day. The pool is open during the winter but kept at 10C so you can have the "nordic" experience if you dare.

We couldn't use the spa facilities because they closed early each night, I think because it was slow season after the "holiday" rush. We were the only two eating breakfast each morning in the restaurant - I was told that only 6 rooms were occupied.

The hotel will shuttle you to the hill if you want, but the walk was less than 5 minutes straight up Kandahar street. We loved just walking around checking out all the shops and restaurants.

Hotel Quintessence was just named "Most Excellent Small Hotel" by Conde Nast for good reason. This hotel is simply stunning. The spacious suites have a cozy decor, warm fireplace, huge jacuzzi tub and picturesque view of Lake Tremblant. The spa is immaculate and body scrub was exquisite. Great place to visit. Well worth the drive from Montreal.
