The Homewood Suites is an average hotel but, not your average Homewood Suites that many Hilton Rewards people would know. It's a resort, with a waver from corp. that the normal Monday to Thursday evening light fare meals are not given here.I can understand why, food cost and controlling the guest's families...Children it's impossible. Staying on that note...The breakfast was good average but, one can see the staff are really trying to keep up with the guest families. For the amount of rooms, sorry amount of people the breakfast area is not enough.
The hotel is aging, everything from the dirty underground parking lot, to the improperly carpeted elevators (it's not level for carts/ wheelchairs Etc. that's why the trim is coming off on each one). Those are ones first views after check-in? Due to the design of the property with it's many stairs with what appears to be no housekeeping storage one finds huge blue dirty linen carts everyday on the floors during housekeeping hours. They are an eye-sore after 3 days add a an empty bell cart and and housekeeping cart in the same area it's nearly impossible to pass with bagage or another family. Rooms are large, mostly renovated some have old TV's but, carpeting is an issue in the 2 level suites as carpet has not been laid properly. The A/C is an issue for sleeping on the upper level. it can be too hot with no A/C movement (Not even from the ceiling fan). If, we had family sleeping on the lower level they would have been far too cold.
Pool w/ huge hot tub is nice but, no strategy or monitoring in place to keep up with shortage of towels day after day.
All in all... the staff are very good, they are trying with all the building obstacles and large amounts of families to deal with.
