“Wonderful experience!”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

We had a wonderful stay at Homewood Suites. The view from our room was beautiful, the front desk staff very kind. Homewood is just a few stepts from the action, about a hundred yards from the closest skii lift. The breakfast is fantastic and they even offer a snack, all at no additional charge. You do not need a car, you can do it through a shutter bus that pick you up at Montreal's airport. If you are running on a strict budget, the village has a supermarket where you can balance your dinning-out activities.

A very short walk, 5 minutes to ski lifts. The front desk manager and all of his staff were very accomodating and helpful with dinner recomendations and other activities. As others have pointed out, there is underground parking, evening activities for families, plenty of restaurants in the village so you do not need a car. Morning breakfast typical of Homewood Suites and some other Hilton hotels. You can't go wrong here.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the slopes if you can get one.

You cannot get a better location for the slopes or village life in Mont Tremblant, but as this is a purpose built Disney type village, everywhere is convenient. On arrival we had the most unhelpful and unpleasant person on reception, she was rude and looked at us like we had come off the bottom of her shoe. To be fair the rest of the staff were much better.

We travelled with friends and we were lucky enough to get a king size bed and separate lounge area, however our friends had a Murphy bed and room was nowhere her as nice. The amenities in the room are fine and as per other comments the sound proofing is not great, but I find it easier to sleep with noise than silence as I'm used to it outside my home.

Breakfast is ok, nothing inspired, but good choice to fill up on. Very strange to have kids and some ladies coming to breakfast in pyjamas! I don't think it's much to ask to get dressed. Ski room was good, but had to deal with the miserable receptionist to get the locks.

Overall a good hotel ad we had a good rate, but would not want too pay as much as others appear to have.

Last year's visit to Tremblant we stayed here and it was wonderful. Morning free breakfast eased the morning prep. The rooms were comfortable. The staff was helpful. Being in the village made nights great for the kids and being about 100 yards from the gondola was great for all!

This was a very comfortable and convenient hotel for a family ski vacation. We were able to park in an underground garage for an extra $14 per day, which was a nice add on for us. There were a couple of luggage carts in the garage for our use so we were able to move all of our baggage on one trip...and we had a lot to move! We were able to store our skis in a ski room off the front lobby and lock them up using complimentary locks from the hotel. They were out of locks on the first day though an we left skis in the car in the garage for the night. Ski-in/Ski-out is the only way to go with young kids skiing. The only place that has a better ski-in/ski-out option is the Fairmont next door. Complimentary breakfast is perfectly adequate. Space is a bit small, but it was a hot and cold breakfast buffet and it made getting up and out on the slopes early a doable task. Our suite had a room with two double beds and a murphy bed in the main room of the suite which was separated from the living room/kitchen area by a half wall. Bathroom had a stand-up shower, double sinks and toilet on one side of a sliding door and double sinks and bath tub on the other which worked out pretty well for us. We had 3 adults and 3 children (ages 12, 9, and 8) and all of our ski gear and we didn't feel crowded. Having the refrigerator and microwave was nice too for storing some snacks and food for one of the adults who has allergies and travels with extra food supplies. The outdoor hot tub was quite nice--large and clean and a nice soak after skiing all day sure feels nice before showering and walking into the pedestrian village for dinner. We would certainly return here. It's not at all fancy, but it provides a good value and is extremely convenient for family travel.

My family's first visit in Tremblant and we wanted to get in some good skiing. Location is fantastic being right at the base of the main ski lift and ski rental area. Large ski storage area in the basement and they give you free "ski-key" locks that can be used on the entire mountain of standard locks, so no need to bring your own locks. Nice hot breakfast in the mornings (large variety of choices), and their "dinner" is actually just some snacks served from mon-thurs between 4pm - 6pm (nachos, or soup or chili, changes each day). In winter their regular swimming pool is closed, but only their outdoor hot tub is open (we didn't try it out with our small kids). Beds were comfy, tons of pillows, large full-sized kitchen if you want to buy some food at the grocery store at the village and cook yourself. Will definitely come back here again.

Firstly, Mont-Tremblant ski area is a good six or eight miles from Mont Tremblant. So don't make the same mistake with your GPS or pre-printed instructions as I did otherwise you'll be practising your pidgin-Quebecois down at the gas station like I was.

That said, the hotel itself is superbly well located with underground parking (extra). The room was adequate although not cheap (okay, expensive but then, what is cheap about skiing?) and I'm loving the open fires in the room although you have to burn strange fake logs you can buy at reception (5CDN) so don't show up with a load of logs from home.

The complimentary breakfast was good although the orange juice was the usual thin parody of real orange juice. Otherwise they varied the pastries and sausage/bacon/ham option from day to day to break up the monotony. The managers 4 - 6 snacks are not going to save you the cost of eating out either but there are some relatively inexpensive burger options in the village.

The hotel comes with free early lift access 'First Tracks' so you get on the snow before folk who are not staying in the ski village plus free skate hire for the rink (also free). There's also a complimentary program of outdoor ents for smaller kids (aged 4 - 8 ish) so they were playing (say) hockey, football on various evenings in the main square.

Lovely, warm ski storage on-site which is a world away from the steel lockers in the car-park that I'm used to. Hotel will lend you locks if you're worried somebody is going to nick your hire gear. Unlikely. This is Canada after all.

Finally, keep your wife away from the fur shop (Scada) or you might double the cost of your holiday.
