“Beautiful Hotel. Pricey extras.”
Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

Stayed one night recently for a wedding in Tremblant at the fairmont. We were there with our little 19 month old.

Beautiful hotel and location. We had a deluxe king room which was quite spacious and comfortable. The swimming pools were a highlight. The outdoor pool was wonderful and warm and out little guy loved it. Easy and quick access to the village. We didn't ski, however it would have been great access to this and the rental shop in the hotel seemed to have no to little line up.
Service was quite good and quick at all levels. The concierge had arranged baby sitting for the evening of the wedding which went smoothly.

Main (small) issues are the late check ins - rooms are not guaranteed before 4PM and the "fairmont" prices (ie 3 dollars for a 250 mL milk for our little guy), expensive parking, extra for wifi etc....

The valet service is pretty good ( a bit expensive though).
Room looks very old and smell strange...
Service is very bad, check-in and check-out is very slow. I've been there 3 times, and everytimes, we got a problem at check-in. Once they upgraded us because it took almost 45 minutes to do the check-in!
Service at the bar is bad too.
The pool and the spa are very nice though. But hard to have beverage service (slow and so expensive!).

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on Trip Advisor. Our guests' opinion is very important to us as it allows us to better review our service and offerings.
I'm very sorry to see that your stay, on a service standpoint, was less than acceptable. This is not in keeping with the standards and guest service we strive to offer and it's truly concerning to know that we've missed the mark in many areas.
I sincerely hope we will have another chance to welcome you and show you the kind of service we are capable of offering.

Best regards,

The hotel is well put together. We enjoyed the 7th floor Gold Floor that comes with being a president's Club member. Rooms are great in terms of layout and amenities - BUT soem of the rooms are annoyingly noisy from the sound of a service elevator motor. So make sure you test the room before you accept it.

Dear Guest,

It is truly delightful to know that you enjoyed our Gold floor. It is concerning to know however that your guestroom was noisy. Your experience is not typical of the kind of service and comfort we strive to provide and we shall ensure this matter is addressed.

Thank you for your feedback. We look forward to seeing you again.

Stayed for one night with the family. Very clean, modern and very nice staff. Only good things to say about the place. The staff aims at making sure your stay is a pleasant one. We had an issue with the fridge (could not find the key that was hanging right next to it....) the maintenance crew were in our room 5 minutes later. The pool experience is great! Exterior hot tub, outside heated pool, cold spa. The beds/pillow are very comfortable. Best sleep I ever had in a hotel. Only negative part is the $21 valet parking fee they charge per night if you leave your car. Word of advice, use the free P1 parking down the hill. It's a 10 minutes walk and it will save yourself $45 for a two nights stay. Oh yeah, they might discourage you by saying it is full, just use P2 which is right next to it.

Best location, great outdoor hot-tubs and breakfast. Disappointed with the slow service at the front desk and at times rude service but almost everywhere else it was very good. The rooms seemed a bit underwhelming considering the cost. Would stay again despite some issues with management.

We just finished a terrific week's skiing here, in the quiet week that just missed the school holidays of the UK, US East Coast, and Canada.
Although Mont Tremblant doesn't have the stunning peaks of the Alps or Pyrenees (or Rockies for that matter) it more than made up for that with well planned lifts and trails, great snow, no queues, and laid back skiers and staff. It's a great ski resort for families, with nursery slopes right in the village, and a week's worth of lovely long slopes from top to bottom of the mountain for intermediate skiers. Unlike so many European resorts, it has no drag lifts. And relatively few snowboarders, but perhaps that's because it wasn't a school holiday week.
Our holiday got off to a bad start because our UK based travel company had failed to book us into the hotel (despite confirming it to us and taking full payment), and when we arrived in the evening on Saturday 23 Feb the Fairmont was fully booked and the travel company was offline for the night. Not great after a transatlantic flight and a tough drive from Montreal in heavy snow.
The hotel could've said "not our problem", but the superb receptionist was sympathetic, kind, and reassuring. With advice from the duty manager she found us a bed elsewhere for the night and assured us we'd be upgraded for the rest of the week at the Fairmont. She really couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Within 30 minutes we were heading to another hotel a few miles away for the night, at no extra cost, and were driven there in the Fairmont courtesy car.
On our return the next day the Fairmont upgraded us to the Gold (7th) floor, with a cosy and well appointed room under the eaves, and full access all week to the very comfortable and relaxed club lounge with its own concierge, wifi, and free breakfast and supper every day.
We also used the Windigo bar (good, simple menu), the Friday night buffet in the Windigo restaurant (at what seemed to us a fair price for lobster, crab, sushi, and shrimp galore), and the sublime outdoor hot tubs overlooking the slopes. The ski valet and hire were excellent too.
All the staff on the Gold floor - and throughout the Fairmont - were friendly, helpful, and professional to a tee.
We'll be back, and not just because of the upgrade. But next time we'll book direct.

Room Tip: Go Fairmont Gold if you can

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for posting such a kind message on Trip Advisor. Although I'm sorry to read that your vacation began with an unsettling start, I'm delighted to know that were able to help you turn it around into a positive experience. Indeed our Gold floor is an exquisite way to enjoy a ski vacation and I'm very happy to know that you enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the mountain. The Saturday Surf, Turf and seafood buffet is a favorite here and it's truly gratifying to know that our guests are able to make the best of their stay with us. It will be a pleasure for me to share your message with the entire team.

We look forward to your next visit with us.

After driving 10 hours from the south, we were surprised at the reception desk to find that, despite requesting on large bed, we were told that our reservation was for twin beds. While technically correct (there was no choice given during the online booking), we had put in a "special request" for the king or queen bed. Feeling disappointed, I expressed this nicely to "Micky", who said that for more money, we could get the king bed. He disappeared, then came back beaming that he not only did he change our room, but it was facing the slopes, and was at no extra charge! I was very impressed by this, and found the room to be very clean, great mattress, sheets and towels, etc. The staff was also very well trained and polite, including the auto and ski valets. If skiing in Mont Tremblant again, I would keep the Fairmont on my list of choices. But, forget the spa! Believe it or not, there is no bathroom or changing room in the spa, forcing guests to venture into the public area of the hotel, in a bathrobe no less, to use the toilet facilities. The spa staff were surly, ill-trained and ill-prepared, looking like they just woke up from a bad night's sleep. And it is one of the most expensive massage treatments you will ever pay for. Stay away!

Room Tip: Get the slopes view, very good viewing of the village

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments. I'm very happy to know that you enjoyed your stay and that our staff was able to secure a room with according to your preferences.
It is most concerning to read about your negative experience with the spa, located in the hotel. I will share your message with Amerispa as to ensure proper action is taken. As the Spa is located above the fitness centre, the restrooms are located one flight below. There are restrooms in the public area that may seem closer to the Spa although they are outside the spa area. I'm sorry you were not directed to the proper restrooms.

We do hope to welcome you again in the future and show you the kind of impeccable service we strive to provide our distinguished guests.
