“Great Skiing Vacation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2012

Just returned from the mini ski vacation at Mont Tremblant, stayed at the Fairmont hotel. Everything was great considering how busy they were during the holidays. The Ski in and out option was great, ski valet was very convenient, rooms were nice and beds comfortable. Breakfast was superb. Yes, everything was a bit on a pricey side, but well worth it for us. And nothing can beat the huge hot tub-pool outside after all day of skiing! You could even order a drink while soaking in the pool. Ski rental place was also good, the guy (unfortunately, I don't remember his name) even went out of his way by getting us the lift tickets, as all other places that sold them were already closed. Overall, I would go back in a heartbeat. This place in general is so MUCH BETTER than any other ski resort on the east coast.

I must say that I was disappointed with this hotel. We traveled from one side of the world to the other to stay in this hotel, with the belief that it was a world class hotel. We paid the extra for Gold service, which entitles you to exclusive check-in, private breakfast room and nightly canapé’s (you need to pay for your drinks though and they are not cheap).
The service at this hotel was very good, however the level of “World class quality” was disappointing. The extra cost for Gold service is from $150 per night more than a normal room. There is no way that there is $150 of better service or room quality or any extras that total this amount. The WIFI internet service is so bad that I had to drive to the village 12km away to get a better service at the bakery for free! They charge close to $20 per day for this appalling WIFI service or “included” in your $150 per night Gold service. There is also a $20 per day valet charge + tax. Fairmont still hasn’t learnt to incorporate this into a room charge.
I have stayed at Fairmont Frontenac at the same time of year and it is a far superior hotel with better options and services. It s also cheaper, also has in-hotel shopping and better surrounding stores, shopping and restaurants. It also has a great toboggan run.
In summary, if you really want to stay at this hotel for the exceptional skiing location, go with the cheapest option room. $400+ per night is far too much to pay for an ordinary experience.
*Just a side note to the Fairmont- you need to clean the computer in the Gold lounge, it has food through the keyboard and is a disgrace*

Room Tip: Start with a basic room and try for an upgrade. The prices at this hotel are way over the top for wh...

We found the hotel rooms very old but clean. I did not expect the ugly paintings on the wall in a fairmount hotel though, neither did I expect to hear people showering over my head or the continuing heating shooting hot air all night. Yet, the rooms are still a bit cold. Nothing really bad anyway, we had a great sleep after enjoying an excellent meal at the windigo restaurant.

Overall, the service is good.

However, there was CLOUD over our stay: the rental service. We found ourselves being served by two of the worst employees we ever met. P & J wouldn't just care, made stupid jokes, and are of no help at all. They will make you go to your room and look for a paper (the yellow one) they actually hold a copy of in their drawer because they are just too lazy to care.

Overall, we regretted not walking the extra few meters to go to the main ski rental service, which has great and caring employees. Because of that poor service we will rather go to hotel quitessence next time.

, General Manager at Fairmont Tremblant, responded to this review, January 10, 2013
Dear guest,

Thank you for your constructive feedback.

I am please to see that overall, you enjoyed our service. With regard to the hotel decor, I’m delighted to inform you that we will be refurbishing our guestrooms and giving them a new, stylish and sophisticated makeover. The wall artwork will be replaced by black and white action photos of skiing and biking which will give the room an authentic and modern feel.

It is most disturbing to read that you endured such a negative experience with the ski rental staff. Although the ski rental counter is not managed by Fairmont, it is very important to us that their service be reflective of the service standards we strive to provide our guests throughout the hotel. I have reviewed your comments with the ski rental manager as to ensure this situation is addressed promptly.

We hope to welcome you again in the future.

Regards,

Louise Champagne

We stayed here for a weekend after out wedding. They upgraded us and sent us a gift when they found out. The room was beautiful, the restaurants were amazing, the hot tubs had a gorgeous ciew of the hill, we had outstanding service and they had the cutest lobby dog that stole my heart! I would love to go back! My only regret is that we went to the scandinavian spa not far from the hotel, but with all the services the hotel offer we should have stayed and used their spa.

I've been to many of the Tremblant Hotels and the Fairmont is always a great choice. We stayed in a King room that was larger than the other rooms we've had in the past. It was on the corner of the hotel facing the Nansen ski trail and gave us an extra space for a seating area.

We were slightly disappointed that the hot tub no longer has drink service and the hot tub closed at 9pm on a Friday night... the drink service was the main reason for selecting this hotel initially... however the stay was so pleasant it didn't really matter!

We sat in the lovely couch area and ordered drinks from the bar which was very comfortable.

The breakfast buffet is delicious! So many choices, and the food actually tastes good!

Best service yet! The 24 hour ski race was on during our stay so late check out was not an option (hotel was sold out) but we were told we could leave our bags as per usual and keep our car valet parked free of charge which was nice. A gentleman who I think was named Micky was super professional, polite and helpful with our bags as we left and when we came back in from skiing.

All in all a wonderful stay at the Fairmont, cannot wait to go back again.

Room Tip: Room 662 King room was larger than the typical King room.

It's been a while since we last visited this hotel, we were pleased to see that they have undergone some soft renovations, and cannot wait for the rooms to be renovated! That being said, our room was fine, just a bit worn out. We were upgraded to a deluxe room with a view of the ski slope, which was great to sit in bed and watch the skiers come down. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pool very much, and the gym was pleasant. Service was very good for the most part. Overall a fabulous stay at the Fairmont.

Love the location, room quality, amenities and service. Our room was slightly oversized and had an iconic Hudson's Bay Blanket on the canopied bed. Decor was very modern and appropriate to the mountain location. Everyone was fluent in English and we really enjoyed the weekend. Pools looked nice, and concierge was very helpful on several occasions. Highly recommend this hotel over others we've stayed at on the mountain assuming the price is reasonably comparative.

Room Tip: Our room was 733 and the "33"s appear to be larger in size accoring to the hotel door map...
