“Average food - nice patio - overall good place to eat.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2009

We went to La Diable for lunch one day. It was good - two of us had bacon swiss burgers which were great, and one had the beef dip - which was also great. Prices were ok - same as anywhere in the market in Ottawa, so that was great. Had some beer - don't remember which ones, lol, and the beer was great. Overall - good lunch. The only complaint I had was that I don't eat mayonnaise, and the burger came with it - even after I made sure to ask twice (once in French and once in English) to get the burger without the mayo.

“Best Steak Ever”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2009

My husband got the steak with came with fries and a salad. He could only get through the steak which had a peppercorn sauce on the side. It melted it was so tender and he absolutely loved it. We took the fries and salad home and he had the fries the next day and I ate the salad. The salad was a caesar and was very good. It had just the right amount of cheese, croutons, bacon, and dressing. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish had a bit too much breading on it but I still enjoyed it and the fries were just a tad too greasy for me but overall it was a great meal. The atmosphere of the building was great...the ceiling looked like an old barn and the walls were stucco with exposed brick. There were also coasters from different beers on the wall. Speaking of beer, my husband got the beer of the month - a raspberry beer. He thought it was excellent.

“Disappointing food”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2009

A pleasant little split-level shed in the centre of the Disneylandesque Mont Tremblant, the Microbrasserie la Diable offers much promise. We were there on a busy Saturday evening, and were fortunate to get a table.

The menu looks appealing, and the bland but pleasant beer goes down well. However, when the food arrived, it showed signs of a lack of care. Pommes Frites were massively over-cooked, and almost inedible. The chicken was of poor quality, though reasonably well-cooked. Worse, though, was the "Linguini" (actually spaghetti) with smoked Swiss sausage. This brought on quite a violent reaction within an hour of eating it. I don't know if it was something in the pasta sauce that did it, or if there was something wrong with the sausage, but this meal upset an otherwise iron constitution.

Like some other Tremblant restaurants, it was difficult to pay for the meal, due to the (pleasant, but) inattentive staff. Eventually we managed to pay, and were irritated to find that a note on the check/bill had been circled by the barely visible waiter, saying "Service not included. We suggest 15%" We grudgingly gave him slightly less than that and left, later to be revisited by that dodgy sausage.

We may have been unlucky with the quality of the food, but the atmosphere was quite good and the beer OK. The place seems like a good idea, and the menu's fairly interesting for a place like this. If only the food had been better, we might have gone back again. As it is, though, the hunt for a decent Tremblant restaurant continues.

“Best pub grub on the resort”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2009

The owners of this place have gotten it right -- they brew their own beer, they've devised a wonderful pub grub restaurant (complete with a few surprises) and the staff are friendly and efficient. The place is frequented by tons of locals -- always a sign as to the quality of the food and the reasonable prices. Fantastic salads, burgers, ribs, pasta, fish & chips -- for lunch or dinner, it's always reliable, good pub food.
