My husband and I visited The Blue Bridge on January 3rd for my birthday. We were looking forward to dinner because we knew they had recently changed their menu and we LOVE trying Ken's new creations.
I ordered Chicken Neptune and my husband had the duck. We had seafood mushrooms for a starter.
Seafood mushrooms: the BEST we've had! Inside the perfectly cooked mushroom was a solid chunk of crab - not the shredded garbage you see at some places. Great quality
Chicken Neptune: so much food I couldn't finish my plate. The chicken was tender, juicy and had lots of flavor. I had 5 huge, perfectly cooked prawns on my plate and there was a huge mound of solid crab meat on top of the chicken. All of this was covered in a fantastic, rich bernaise sauce. My side was baked potato - tasty and roasted corn with green beans. I'm not a fan of green beans and I tried a few of them just to confirm that I still don't love them. They were cooked nicely in butter but I just don't like green beans. The roasted corn was like dessert.
Duck: I tried a piece of my husband's duck. It was so juicy and had so much flavor. Some places try to use a sauce to cover up the gamey taste of duck. Not Blue Bridge. The sauce was subtle and sweet and matched perfectly. The duck had a great flavor.
The service was great, as usual. The servers have obviously been trained to be very professional and not noticeable. I like that when they are not busy they stand next to the bar with their hands behind their back, just watching the diners and waiting to jump at a moments notice.
Thank you to all of the staff at The Blue Bridge for a wonder dinner on my birthday.
