We had a delightful meal, and I have no problem recommending. Our only complaint was related to service. Our three course meal ran a full three and a half hours. In that time, our water glasses were refilled once, we poured our own wine (ok - the bottles are not that heavy, but it's a nice touch that's frequently found in lower-priced establishments).

All in all, a much nicer experience than some high volume place looking to push you out the door, but the service could certainly use a little focus.

The menu is French and excellent. You have a choice of 5, 6, or 7 service menus. For this plan, the main course is smaller than if you go à la carte. For me it was perfect. Usually if I take a tasting menu I eat too much to enjoy the later courses, but with a smaller main course it worked out perfectly. The 5 course tasting menu is $41 and includes a starter, a trou normand, a main course, an excellent cheese course and a dessert. Coffee and tea are included as well.

The service is good and professional.

The atmosphere is nice. We ate in a new addition that is like an enclosed terrace. The windows and doors are open so it is like eating outside. The decor is nice as well.

Unfortunately, they say that they do not vary their menu so it isn't a restaurant that we will be going to every month. It's always nice to have some variety. They say their regular customers always want the same thing. To each his own.

This restaurant was delicious. The waitress and waitor were so friendly, we joked with them all night. It was a very romantic restaurant, we sat near the fireplace. The soup of the day was amazing! The meal was just so good. We will definitely be back. Very european feel to the place. Felt as if we were in another country. Overall...great experience! I give it 5+ stars!

After spending a month in the region ( based in St Jovite) and trying many restaurants, La Chaumiere stands out for its quality, authenticity and value. The owners, Marie Louise and Roland have nurtured a wonderful French restaurant from the ground up. Roland's food is classic French cooking beautifully prepared, and he tries where possible, to incorporate local ingredients. Unlike the more expensive restaurants in Mont Tremblant, Roland doesn't push the envelope to create something sexy (usually represented by stacking flavors on top of each other) and relies instead on an innate talent to replicate French flavors. He was trained in French Switzerland, and his dishes are remarkably simple and delicious. Highly recommended.
