The inside of the cottage is depicted accurately in the pictures and the description. The owners were consistently responsive. The cottage was clean. It is convenient to the main roads and to the town as well as various grocery stores. The screened in porch was a nice outside space.
The Chalet was beautiful. Everything was in excellent condition and the chalet was well appointed. There were four bedrooms, two full bath, and a half bath. Full washer/dryer. The bath on the bottom floor had a sauna and whirlpool tub with a separate standing shower.
The kitchen had everything needed. We didn't use the dishwasher because I was on vacation from dishes. Fortunately, a Wal-Mart is only a few miles away, so we easily obtained paper plates. There is also a great grocery store with lots of fresh seafood and pastries even closer.
We took a day trip to Montreal and a day trip to Quebec City. Next time we hope to also go see the waterfalls in the National Park just 45 minutes away, but our kids wanted to play the games provided in the chalet. They especially loved the full size ping pong table. The boys could walk down the hill to the lake. They enjoyed playing on the many porches (including a large screened in one). I saw a grill, but we were taking vacation from cooking. Lots of firewood if you were so inclined. The heating appeared to be adequate, although we didn't require it. You could adjust it for each living area. There was a canoe with life jackets, we just didn't have time. Lots of patio furniture.
The owner was so wonderful to work with. We made an error on the dates and he graciously changed them for us. This was a huge relief since we didn't realize until we had spent two days on the road already!
It wasn't ski season, but we could see all the slopes around. The have zip lines for adventurers during off season.
I absolutely love Quebec. The people are so real, kind, and artistic. I didn't feel bad at all practicing my abysmal French with the grocery store clerks and the places I stopped for directions when I got lost my first day.
There was WiFi and a t.v. with cable. Truly a lovely vacation spot.
