Club Vacances Toutes Saisons
Reviewed March 6, 2012

We stayed for a week at Club Vacances Toutes Saisons through RCI in Feb. 2012. Clean and simple, but small apartments with all the basic amenities. It was a quiet week, so very few people around. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful. The master bedroom was small and the bed was very basic, though fine after a day being outdoors. There wasn't enough storage space when you have all your ski gear, and the heating is typical electric baseboard, so the room can be bone dry. The bathroom was also quite small. The kitchen sink was built into a corner with little counter space.

Overall, very good, a little on the small size, but efficient. Very good location for going to ski either at Sainte-Anne or Le Massif. We also did a few trips into Quebec, which is a half hour away.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the woods, not the parking lot.

We stayed here for 6 nights, 5 days in February 2012. We stayed in a 2 double bed room in the main lodge, not a chalet. We were there to ski at Mont-Sainte-Anne. The hotel was clean and quiet, the staff were quite friendly.

The room was adequate. The beds were fairly comfortable, there was lots of space in the room for our gear and equipment. The room was equipped with a mini fridge and a coffee maker. The decor is dated and the washroom was very dated and quite small (the door just clears the toilet in order to close.) However it was clean and functional. The biggest complaint we had is there is no middle ground between cold water and thermonuclear. If you turned on the cold tap in the sink or shower ever so slightly the water ran cold. The hot tap only was unbearable to shower under. Additionally there is no thermostat in the room - simply and high/low/off switch for the heater with 'heat' and 'cool' options. There is a slide scale to change the temperature of the air being emitted however it's simply lablled "warm, normal, cool". We found normal to be way too hot to sleep. And the radiator doesn't shut off unless you manually shut it off. It took us most of the week to find the best setting on the radiator.

We did eat at the hotel restaurant the first night. The food was alright, but not spectacular. If you like duck you'll love the menu. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great and there are happy hour specials between 5 - 7 every night.

During the winter months there is no on-site pool or hot tub. We've decided this is now a requirement for us on a ski vacation. There is the opportunity to purchase a pass (8.50 + tax per day or 17.50 + tax for the week) to the fitness and pool facilities at the hotel down the road. It's a short drive, but its not the same as being on-site. We found the fitness room at that location to be excellent, the pool was great and warm but the hot tub was only slightly warmer than the pool. Not exactly a hot tub. There were both a steam room and a dry sauna available as well.

The hill is a short drive from the hotel, with ample parking. We were unable to find a shuttle from the airport to the area and there is no shuttle from the hotel to the hill. A car is required, it is much too far to walk with your ski gear.

There is absolutely no night life in Beaupre. There aren't very many restaurants or pubs either. A chalet with a kitchen would have likely been a better idea - at least then we would have been able to prepare our own meals.

I stayed at this property in august 2011 for 1 week as a trade thru RCI. From the outside the property looks nice. My traded unit was not so nice. For starters it was a huge mistake on my part to rent a unit with no air conditioning. It temp was 70-80 degrees and humid. They did provide a fan,but there was zero air flow in the unit. The bedroom windows would not open.
there was a slidng door to the small patio, but this unit was on the ground level so you could not leave it open @ night. Because of how the units were arranged, there was also no privacy. The furniture had almost no cushion left and the bed was hard as a rock. Everything was really dated and worn.
The only good thing i can say is that the location was perfect.Only 30 min to Quebec city
I don't think you could pay me to stay in that unit again.

Room Tip: definately don't get anything on the ground level. And unless they add air conditioning...be pre...

I rented a two bedroom two bath apartment. When I arrived, on Friday night, a note stated that one of the bathrooms was out of order. The next day I went to the office to get details. The staff said that it would be fix as soon as possible. Being that it was a Labor Day weekend, they would get to it on Tuesday. They had Friday to make plans on how to fix the problem. However, nothing was ever accomplished while two families endured with one bathroom. The management never return messages nor did they initiate any messages.
Upon our arrival we walked through the apartment. We found food on the balcony rail and the balcony was dirty. Inside stair steps were dangerously loose. This they did attempt to repair, but nailed them in such a manner as to still be dangerous. They didn't really look at the problem. They found loose stairs and nailed the tread so that they wouldn't move, but they still sloped downward.

Unfortunately, while this place is in a good location for travel to Quebec or Eastward, I wouldn't recommend staying there.
I booked this through RCI and found their response to be about as bad as the vacation property manager; "Sorry, you should have called us immediately." I didn't have any info to tell me where to call or when. I did ask the property management to call RCI the day after our arrival and they wouldn't do it.

OK - so there are alot of not so great reviews that made me very skeptical of our stay at Club Vacances Toutes Saisons. What you need to do is put things in perspective if you are planning a visit in the summer: you are staying at a place that is primarily a ski resort housing. If you are a skiier, you will know what I mean. Things are usually a bit "rougher" in housing for skiiers. This is not like a 4-5 star resort in Mexico with all of the amenties, bells and whistles, so don't expect it.

Our unit was a 2 bedroom with a loft and very spacious. Furnishings were suitable and the unit was clean, beds compfortable and there were regular pillows (not pieces of foam rubber that someone noted), etc. It does NOT have airconditioning but this was not an issue for us as there was only one day that was warmer where we would have used it. Fans are provided to take the edge off for days like that. It was really nice to have the windows open and enjoy the fresh air. I was informed that they are starting to renovate units and add air conditioning; this begins in the fall of 2011 and will take 18 months to complete. But again, not an issue for us.

As far as internet, we left all of our electronics at home on purpose. There is a $50 fee for the week if you need it. We were on vacation to enjoy Canada and all it has to offer, not continue the electronic addiction we are all so dependent on. You will definately notice that the Canadiens are not midlessly texting and chatting on cell phones constantly - big difference from the US.

We used the pool and tennis courts and they were clean with suitable chairs/lounges at the pool. Did not go to the restaurant so I can't comment on that. The Concierge was very helpful in booking us on a whale watching adventure on a Zodiac boat with AML (company name that we used).

Beaupre is a great location - we visited Quebec City two days, went whitewater rafting with New Wave Expeditions which I HIGHLY recommend on the Jacques Cartier river - awesome adventure. Also enjoyed the international fireworks competition at Montemorency Falls just outside QC.

If you enjoy the feel of France, shopping, good food and art galleries you must visit Baie St. Paul about an hour north of Beaupre (we stopped there on our way to whale watching in Baie St. Catherine). Loved it! You can also kayak, etc. out of here too. A beautiful seaside town. If you are in the mood for ice cream, visit the shop in the main shopping area and get the maple chocolate dipped cone - to die for!

St. Anne Basilica is a must see, even if you aren't a church goer. The church is just spectacular with a good karma and feel as soon as you set your eyes on it.

I would definately book here again, but in ski season since we are skiiers and would love to ski Mt. St. Anne!

Enjoy your stay!

Room Tip: There are unit # 1100 rooms that may be best; or after 9/2011 ask for the newly renovated rooms.

I have read some of the negative reviews of other people who have stayed in the Club Vacances Toutes Saisons, and I can't help but wonder, where these people were staying. My husband and I spent the 1st week, of our two-week Canadian HONEYMOON there, and LOVED IT!

I'll start off by saying, no, it's not a luxury hotel, but it is a great place to stay, regardless. We had a one bedroom, full bath, and kitchen, and absolutely loved our unit. The entire unit was IMPECABLY clean (and I would like to point out that I'm a CLEAN FREAK) and we had a beautiful view of Mont St. Anne. I was quite impressed, especially after reading all of the negative reviews before we arrived.

These condos were also in the PERFECT location, especially for travelers like ourselves, who've never been to Quebec. There is a supermarket right down the road, and within a short driving distance is Quebec City, Charlevoix Region, Isle d'Orleans, and COUNTLESS other wonderful tourist attractions.

I would also like to point out, that regardless of what other reviewers stated, the staff was UNBELIEVABLY helpful with giving us info about the region, places to go, and things to do.

If you take the unit for what it is - simply, a clean condo in a GREAT location, and like I said, NOT The Ritz Carlton, I promise, you will not be disappointed.

After reading some of the poor reviews of this property, it is best to put things into perspective. First of all, it is a very nice Condo. It would be stretching it to describe the location as a Resort. RCI looks foolish listing this property as a Gold Crown Resort. It does not come even close to comparing to the Gold Crowns we've stayed in Mexico. It equates to Fairfield Sapphire Valley or Palmetto Dunes in Hilton Head. As a condo, we found everything to be satisfactory. The bedding and furniture were fine. The kitchen is small, but my wife had no problem preparing over a dozen excellent meals. Heat and hot water were very responsive--great place to take hot baths. It might say it is for 3-4 people, but more than a couple is pushing it. The table, with the leaf out, sits 3. Some condos and some Chalets have very nice views. Call the resort one week prior to get a good view of either the ski mountain or the river/city of Beaupre. For the river view, consider Chalets 8-20 and for the mountain view consider condos buildings 1300-1500, 2100, 2300, and 2600. We were in a middle floor condo, so the deck, with the table/chairs, was the same as the landing into the unit. There is a very nice IGA grocery store several miles away in Beaupre. We drove into Quebec once/parked with Manuel's help and then followed up with a tour from the Condo with the nice assistance of the concierge. Visits to the copper factory/showroom and honey bee museum were well worth it. One must not miss the Basilica St Anne du Pre. Museum du Fort in Quebec was great for understanding the battles of Quebec. The stairs down to the lower level in Quebec are relatively easy and saves $4 each way on the Funicular. We went on daily walks through the residential neighborhood down the street from the chalets. The small 19" TV had the major US networks and the DVD player worked fine. Video rentals are $3, but we strongly disagree with the $10/day charge to use the Internet in the lodge. Pool was cold and unused; tennis court was locked. There is no surface to store anything except the small 2 x 1 1/2 kitchen work surface, the dinette table and the top of the dresser in the BR. There was a total of 8 hangars in the closet.
All in all, it was a great location with plenty to do. This location is an adequate Condo and should not be advertised as a Resort.
