This property is well past it's prime. Our cottage was very tired. The biggest concern is that when we opened the door the bed was very messy. The bedspread was not straight but crooked and wrinkled. The sheets were no longer white but thin and yellow with some old stains on sheets and pillow cases. The bottom sheet was not fitted but a flat sheet thrown crooked over the mattress...partly tucked in and part hanging.

The bathroom and towels were fine but the stovetop was dirty and there were food splatters on the kettle from the last occupant .The setting is good and easy to access.
So VERY dissatisfied. House keeping was a failure...I would not recommend this property. It was obvious that complaining to the front desk was not worthwhile. We did not bother with the dining room but welcomed the opportunity to leave the cottage and go into town for dinner .Then we sat outside as long as we could. Truthfully if we had not had a very long day of travelling and another one ahead we would have left.

So VERY dissatisfied....

Even with a reservation, we waited 30 minutes to be seated, then another 20 minutes to get our cocktails. Apparently, there is no bartender because our drinks were almost undrinkable. Food was mediocre. Our server was delightful, though, and the only part of the experience that we enjoyed.

We had not been here in 12 years and were concerned that it would not be as good as we remembered. We were wrong. The service was outstanding and the food was exceptional. Our server Renee was attentive and answered all questions we had about the menu. It is not the cheapest place to eat, but the food and service are top notch.

I was so looking forward to this meal. I remember that the food was wonderful other times i stopped. I had mussel in cream no cream just milk in bottom of bowl. I ordered rack of lamb, which i love, 4 small pieces not well cooked for 39$. Potatoes and carrots pureed like baby food, and green beans which were the best thing on the plate. Service was excellent however.

Thank Peggy C
