“Clean, comfortable, friendly”

We rented the three bedroom suite with kitchen and couch/tv area for a family of five ski holiday, and took an extra room a 15' walk away. The walk was outside but covered. You can crawl to the ski shuttle stop, or make the 7 minute drive to the hill. Two block walk to grocery stores, wine, beer, liquor, and walk on another block or two for the local stores. Value priced, quiet, with really comfortable beds and wifi included. There is also a common room kitchen/games room where you can cook, or grab pots, pans and wine glasses, or use the barbeque. An easy place to stay - highly recommended.

This was a fabulous find in Fernie. It is a nice family owned and run business. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Well worth the price, we had tried two other hotels in Fernie , and left them because of unsatisfactory accommodations. Then when we found this one it was amazing. The price was very reasonable, and it was extremely clean, and quiet. Fabulous pool, and kitchen area. Would highly recommend this to any family!!

We recently stayed here (booked 1 week and stayed 2). It was great - we made use of the weekly room rates (surprisingly VERY competitive versus the hostel if there are 2 or more people).

Exactly what we were after - great value accommodation, clean rooms, comfy beds and a very well equipped kitchen. The common room with a pool table and adjoining hot tub is a great space to hang out and unwind after a long day. This room also has a kitchen if you do not opt for a room with your very own. Ski bus picks you up directly out the back, supermarket just up the road and downtown a short stroll away. Great restaurants/coffee place just across the highway. Extra bonus is a washer and dryer onsite which is very handy if you have been travelling for a while. Staff were so helpful and like reviewers before us, always happy to assist.

We stayed in Fernie for 3 nights in January 2013 and found that the accommodation was generally a little more expensive than other local resorts, and staying really close to the night life wasn't really an option. Powder Mountain Lodge is only 5-10 minute walk from the town centre (bars, restaurants etc) and there is also a good bar with decent food 100M down the road. Best breakfast in town is across the road at Cincott Farms. Rooms were clean with a decent TV and a good heater for drying ski gear.

Room Tip: There are two levels, with outdoor access. If travelling with skis it is probably worth requesting...

My boyfriend and I spent the full winter season 2011/2012 at Powder Mountain Lodge in a one bedroom with kitchen. We originally booked it because it was the cheapest deal in town, offering long term deals (although clearly the lodge is also offering short term and last minute bookings).

Throughout the season we saw many other accomodations where friends were staying and we know today that we lucked out. The lodge is in a very central location and the ski-bus stops just outside. Marcie and her family run the Lodge in a very relaxed and helpful manner. No request is ever a problem. Most of the lodge is newly refurbished. The rooms (single, double, one or two bedroom, with or without kitchen etc) are clean, quiet, safe and warm (very important in winter). It is nothing fancy but the kitchen is very well equipped and Marcie lends out her blender, wok or anything one may need for when we were making a more elaborate dinner for friends. There are also BBQ facilities with a fancy large gas BBQ for anyone who wants to use it. There is also a swimming pool but obviously not used in winter ;-)

Our four months at the lodge passed much too quickly. It felt like a home to us. We will certainly stay with Marcie again when returning to Fernie in the future.

I have stayed here two or three times since May 2011 and this will be my go-to place in Fernie. The rooms have been recently renovated, the beds are brand new and oh so comfy, and best of all the price is right!

I think the management just took over the place in the spring and they are very helpful. I was making my dinner in the common room one night and I overheard the lady at the front desk making arrangements to personally go pick up a car full of stranded teens from the hospital in Fernie. Turns out they had written off their car and their parents were frantically trying to take care of them from Edmonton until they could come get them. Don't know many hotels that would offer that kind of service!

Only beef I have is it's hard to see the sign from the highway, so just look for the car dealership sign so you don't miss the turn!

Room Tip: The rooms look out into the courtyard with an outdoor pool, kind of like Melrose place :). There is...
