Great terrain. Great for kids and advanced skiiers alike. Friendly resort. Staying on the hill is best.

Spent five days in Fernie in second week of March. Mild weather with low cloud and rain meant slush and poor visibility, so overall disappointing as it did not live up to its reputation as ski destination. If one can't ski/board there is bugger all else to do here!
Staff at the resort were generally helpful and enthusiastic, with the one exception being the rental shop where the staff were bordering on useless and in need of an injection of energy. The washrooms were very clean and warm, which is always a good sign and although the choice of shops and restaurants is limited at the resort, Fernie township is only a five minute drive away. Staying in town and driving to the ski hill is therefore a good alternative. Also, if you are hiring ski/board gear recommend renting in town (recommend Gear Hub) as you get better quality equipment at lower prices...plus much better service.
If the weather had been better this rating would have been higher, even despite the service at the rental shop.

Awesome town, legendary resort. To be honest this is my second season here and the snow conditions where great at times, tho would have been nice to get some more snow toward the back end of the winter months. Last years season was Pow Day after Pow day. Resort has all Types of terrain for beginners up to steep cliff shoots with cliff drops and all sorts of natural features for the more experienced. The Party scene also pumps with something to do almost every night, at one of the local bars in town. Looking forward to seeing what summer has to bring as i havn't experienced one here as yet. Would highly recommend for someone who wants to take there're boarding/Ski'ing to the next level.

Loved the pow. Never ridden anything like it. The tree riding is the best i have ever had,
Couldn't really be bothered with all the traversing and if the snow isn't on the groomed runs are a bit dull.

Absolutely loved my time here. Even though we visited during a bit of a dry spell in terms of snow fall, the cold base and the versatile terrain kept me entertained. My skiing improved greatly and I cannot wait to return! Loved this place so, so, so much! There was plenty to offer all levels of skiers and boarders and the staff were helpful and the views were incredible.
