“A great resort for a day or two.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 23, 2012

We visited Fernie when on a Canadian ski trip. Great skiing, lots of off piste and a good lift system. We drove over from Invermere which was quite a drive but very worthwhile. Went back for a second day, a bit grey weather, however very enjoyable. As it is a small resort anything more than a couple of days might be limiting if you are a capable confident skier. Visiting from Scotland, Fernie is worth visiting.

“Favorite place from Calgary”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2012 via mobile

I live in Calgary. Fernie is my favorite place to ski!

Pros: not as commercial as other places (both the town and the ski hill), a more difficult level resort (you must be a pretty good skier to enjoy the full mountain), almost always good conditions, farther from larger cities so no long line ups, Cedar bowl!, the powder days!

Cons: a more difficult mountain for those travelling from eastern Canada not used to the grades and the powder (I'm a former easterner). If you're a confident skier you'll have no problem and will love it. If not, a Fernie "blue" is not the same as a "blue" in the rest of Canada.

Thank you for skiing and riding with us! We are honored to receive your accolades!! With over 37 feet of snow last winter (in fact the most snow in the Rockies!) we recommend you take a session with one of our Snow Pro's! Get skill enhancement and also tips on where to ski- as with over 2500 acres and 5 Bowls (most bowls in the Rockies) there is so much terrain and over 140 trails to choose from!

“A+ Snowboarding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2012

Stayed in Fernie area from April 9-12, 2012, and snowboarded on the mountain on April 10th & 11th. The quality of snow was decent even though the daytime temperatures were well over +10C. Most runs were groomed overnight. Lifts weren't very busy and the runs were not crowded. You also don't have to dress very warm but make sure you wear sunscreen. Make sure you have the right wax on your boards to not stick to the slushy snow by afternoon.
Great time to visit if you want a deal on rooms, lift tickets, not have to wait in lines and still enjoy what Fernie Resort has to offer.

“Nice ressort with impressive slopes”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2012

We have been skiing in Fernie for a weekend in March - although it weas close to the end of the season, there was more than sufficient snow. There is a wide range of slopes and we would also not have been bored, if we would have stayed for a whole week. A difference to European skiing ressorts is that there are is a number of staff employed at the lifts, who try to make the system work efficiently and help people with problems. There are also guys on skies, patrolling the slopes and gicing tips for the nicest pistes and conditions. A special tip we got was to ski the slope 'power line'. A little bit hidden, but especially for an average skier as myself, a perfect experience. In summary I hope to get the chance to return more often.
