Description: The Loaf has been growing and evolving for seven years, from a start-up in a miner's cottage to a firm favourite in Fernie's Downtown core. Owners Phil & Claire Gadd have always designed The Loaf to be accessible and affordable, a neighbourhood restaurant where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, no matter what the time of day. With excellent food, made from scratch on the premises daily. Now its time for some changes: updating the interior to make a more comfortable dining experience, extending the list of craft beers and offering more wines and liquor and creating an environment where the focus is on exceptional food, good company and the relaxed dining experience. "Our perfect wish for Fernie is a place with craft beers, a good solid wine list by the glass, pizzas, pasta, and some other nice mains, but nothing too fancy. And that's exactly what we're aiming to do at The Loaf."

Family of 4 antipasto platter was good but you can't mess that up can you? The risotto appy was fantastic. Fresh pasta awesome haddock with asparagus and smashes taters was excellent.

I celebrated my 40th birthday at the Loaf and had 18 people at our table. Our service was amazing (thank you Megan and Lolo), the food was delicious and fast. I had the Parmesan Risotto balls which were fabulous and then followed by a lamb burger with fries and the best beet salad ever! The servers were knowledgeable about the food, super friendly, kept everyone hydrated by alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I order a vodka lime and soda and they didn't have any limes so the super friendly and happy owner went out and got me some! No better service than that!!

You cant make it out of here without a latte in one hand and a chocolate croissant in the other. This made onsite bakery smells sooo good.

I had a very good pizza and enjoyed the lively place on a saturday evening on my own by the bar. But there were friendly people there to talk to - enjoyed being there.
