Description: The Loaf has been growing and evolving for seven years, from a start-up in a miner’s cottage to a firm favourite in Fernie’s Downtown core. Owners Phil & Claire Gadd have always designed The Loaf to be accessible and affordable, a neighbourhood restaurant where everyone is welcome and feels comfortable, no matter what the time of day. With excellent food, made from scratch on the premises daily. Now its time for some changes: updating the interior to make a more comfortable dining experience, extending the list of craft beers and offering more wines and liquor and creating an environment where the focus is on exceptional food, good company and the relaxed dining experience. “Our perfect wish for Fernie is a place with craft beers, a good solid wine list by the glass, pizzas, pasta, and some other nice mains, but nothing too fancy. And that’s exactly what we’re aiming to do at The Loaf.”

Lots of variety to choose from - fresh and tasty. They have chocolate bread, chocolate croissants, carrot herb, banana bread, sourdough, etc.

Great variety of bread (pizza too if you desire but we did not have it). Business must be good since they are going to move to the main street of Fernie soon. We bought our bread from the shop last year when we skied Fernie.

We eat here all of the time. Yummy pies and spinach and ricotta rolls! Once you taste the bread you can't go back to the horrible supermarket stuff.

We went on a Friday night when they do pizza. (they only do this Friday and Saturdays). We started with the best salad we have had in a long time. We then picked what we wanted on our pizza. It was perfect. Nice thin crust with fresh ingredients. We loved it. The service was great. As they only do dinners two nights a week reservations are recommended. This was great food for a reasonable price. We will be back. They do amazing bread too.

The Loaf bakery is located in an old house in central Fernie and is a total gem!
The staff were all friendly and laid back which suited us perfectly. It felt as if it had been my local bakery for 10 years and it was only my first visit. The Pies were awesome aswell as the Banana bread. This place is great for a meal at any time of the day, so glad we dropped in!
