I stayed at the Red Tree Lodge for a wedding in July of 2011. The reason we stayed at the Red Tree was the fact they allowed pets. When we arrived it was about 4pm. Our room was not ready. How is a room not ready at 4pm is a little strange.(We did have a reservation) They told us when we booked there was a park we could walk the dog just across the street. There is no such park. The closest place to take the dog was about 4 blocks away.
The beds are ok, but the pillows feel like they are 10 years old.(Bring your own pillow.) Our towels in our room smelled like they were mouldy. The room was not very sound proof, as we could here everyone in the hall as if they were in our room.
The restaurant no longer exists. Must have closed recently, as it was advertised online.I woke up early get a coffee and a muffin at the free continental breakfast on my way to the golf course, only to find it was not set up.
Long story short, you do not get what you pay for at the Red Tree. Fernie is a very nice place, with many hotels. Spend your money elsewhere.More
