A friend and I stayed at Le Gite de Brouage for two nights this past September.

We were greeted by a very friendly host. He and his wife were very helpful and accommodating. We stayed in a cozy room with two twin beds, surrounded by towering bookcases (the lady is a writer, I believe). We were delighted with the made-to-order breakfast. Fresh croissants, homemade jam and tasty omelettes were just a few of the treats we were presented with.

Le Gite is in a residential neighbourhood, and considering the fact that we didn't have a car, we might have been in trouble. However, the host was very kind and offered to bring us to the nearest bus stop, which brought us right to downtown Gatineau and Ottawa.

We had a really nice experience here and enjoyed the warm welcome and hospitality of the hosts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Daniel and Nicole. We were welcomed with a cool drink of rhubarb juice (homegrown and homemade!) and warm hospitality. Although French is their first language, this couple's English is excellent! This B & B is a beautiful retreat only 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa! On Canada Day with hundreds of thousands of people, we were able to avoid the tourist crowd with a VERY short drive, park on the Gatineau (Quebec) side of the Ottawa River, and walk across the bridge to Parliament and other downtown attractions!
