“A touch of Class”
Reviewed July 15, 2014

We were definitely pleased and impressed with this hotel, starting from the outside decor, to the grand foyer and to the rooms themselves. The room was simple, but perfect. The services available; from the pool, the sauna and the nordik spa made perfect companions to this getaway. The Dining room is a true delight and the morning breakfast was delicious and the service excellent. Sadly we arrived on a Monday when the Dining Room was closed, but the menu looked wonderful. We highly recommend this Hotel.

Known as "the little castle",this hotel is were the old meets the new. If you enjoy antique furniture and a look into the past this is the place you. Should spa treatments, pool and the Nordic experience be more your style - you are in the right place - St. Christoph has it.
We took the meal package and glad we did. The staff is amazing from the moment we checked in to meal service and check out. We enjoyed a beautiful meal and a bottle of wine from their private imports.
The junior suite was spacious with a leather love seat and King bed. The room had Wi-Fi, was comfortable and extremely clean. We had mentioned it was our 30th and to our surprise, a lovely plate of chocolate dipped strawberries and ice cider along with a congratulations note was waiting for us upon arrival. The staff really made us feel special; this was the perfect place for a memorable anniversary getaway.
We will be back and we have told all our friends this is a beautiful place to get away not far from Montreal. The attention at St.Christoph is not seen in many hotels and resorts.
SFL

Room Tip: The suites are larger with a sitting area if that extra space is what is needed.

Our experience at this hotel was hot and cold - and I don't just mean the super loud air conditioner that either froze our room if we left it on, or steamed it up in minutes when we tried to shut it off! Everything about this place seemed a little bipolar.

the hotel is located right on the lake, with great views and astounding landscaping. Not a weed in sight. The building itself is gorgeous, and looks like an old chateau. Oddly, however, it is crammed between apartment buildings, with an odd parking lot, and it looks really out of place. Given previous comments, I expected extensive grounds, but all it has is a tiny outside yard, with the spa totally exposed to the neighbours. Also, it's a bit out of the main part of town, but Granby is so small it's not a huge deal.

Stepping inside (note, the front door is disproportionately small and unremarkable given how grandiose the outside of the building is!), the lobby is gorgeous. Inside hallways were hit and miss: nice hard-carved chairs were scattered about, and the colour scheme was nice. But the carpets were pretty ratty, made the hotel look older than its 10 years. One big complaint is that there was only one elevator - and it was slow! Our room was on the fourth floor, and we did milk runs every time.

The room was the biggest disappointment. As previous posters noted, the furniture is just too big for it. Plus, it's not in great shape. The table in our room had bad cracks and chips. The TV cabinet was all around dangerous. The door had to be open to watch TV - but only opened at 90 degrees. This meant that if someone was watching TV, it was impossible to walk from the desk/window end of the room to the bathroom/door without closing the door, because it blocked the entire space between the TV cabinet and foot of the bed. Also meant the TV wasn't visible in half the room. Speaking of the bed - the pillows were amazing, but as someone who likes a hard bed - this one kind of tested my limits.

As one of my daughters pointed out, the glass (albeit frosted glass) door to the bathroom was a total lack of privacy, and just plain odd. There were also some weird stains around the hair dryer on the wall. And, while attractive, the stand-alone sink provided no counter space, and was totally impractical.

The service was amazing. From the fellow who checked us in (and out!), to the wait staff at the restaurant (where breakfast was not only included, but was delicious), everyone had a smile at every moment, and made us feel very welcome. This was in stark contrast to what became the funniest part of our stay: in two places in the room, we were greeted with a checklist of all the items that should be in the room, the quantities that should be there, and their replacement price. The list noted we needed to inventory our room, contact the front desk if anything was missing, and that we could be charged for any missing items. I was floored - definitely a first for ANY hotel of ANY rating I'd ever been in! Kind of left a "we're assuming you might steal" taste in our mouths, and was such a contrast to the welcome we'd received at the front desk.

For the record, we did check our room upon arrival. There were six hangers, when there should have been seven. Replacement cost is apparently a couple of bucks... I didn't tell the front desk because I'm curious to see if they'll charge me for it!

All in all, it's not a bad hotel, certainly nicer than others we've stayed at in Granby. But it certainly doesn't compare to other places of this rating that we have stayed at elsewhere. And it's just too inconsistent to warrant a better review.

Visited this hotel for a one night business trip in the area. Immediately greeted by the manager who said me and a colleague had been upgraded to deluxe rooms with Hot Tubs. While I did not use the hot tub, the room was really spacious and comfortable. Great nights sleep overall. Stay included free Wi-Fi and breakfast which was just beyond a traditional Continental breakfast. Super friendly staff make this worth checking out.

The hotel is beautiful! Our room was fantastic! It was sooooo beautiful! We felt like if we were in the room of a beautiful victorian castle. We even had a neurobed and a nice therapeutic bath in our room. The staff is extremely nice. Everything was perfectly clean. Everyone were just so nice and accomodating. The only slight disappointment was our dinner : my duck was overcooked and my husband's pasta had dried up but it did not change our mind on our appreciation of the place. The breakfast though was really good! Their French toast with maple cream sauce were just so yummy!

Therer is also a nice indoor pool, two sauna and two jaccuzzi! And everything with a view on the lake! We could not ask for more. We had a fantastic weekend. Thank you to all the staff for everything.

Room Tip: I think that most room have a balcony but I would recommand the Deluxe rooms that are just beautiful...

This time we had room without therapeutic bath so it was little less cozy, but still we really love this hotel, decoration, breakfast, service and the best surprise was the spa update - outdoor sauna plus two huge jacuzzi, such a great surprise!!! Great location just next to the lake, few minutes to downtown. We will definitely come back!

Room Tip: Take a room with therapeutic bath!
