We were last minute guests taking the last room on the lst floor. We have stayed in many lovely inns but this greeting for guests was as warm, friendly and helpful as any we have ever received. The w/c and the shower were separate and each somewhat small but we were not disappointed. Would have liked to have had more privacy for the w/c as it was a semi-private french glass door but would not keep us from going back and taking the same room. Check their site for the decor of other rooms. There was a senior biking group of 3 couples who were in the other rooms. This area is
popular with those who want to take of advantage of the great biking trails.
Carole's specially made nuts were delivered as we settled in & her homemade truffles were presented as the bill was paid and we departed. The Gite is a pristine Victorian home with abundant character but Carole's character shines above all. Breakfast was the most elaborate EVENT in the a.m. time period we have ever experienced. Everything made by gourmet cook Carole. The service was an artisitic presentation and the variety of meats, local cheeses, fresh fruits, homemade cakes and breads, fresh squeezed juice and hot entrees was beyond anything we could have imagined. She made us feel like royalty.
This Levis inn overlooks the St. Lawrence River and the falls. Lovely outdoor areas!
There is a lovely gazebo gathering place to overlook the falls and a delightful garden area.
This location requires a car or cab ride to the ferry to Quebec City. We had a car, parked on site at the ferry for $10 for the day plus ferry fee while touring Quebec City. There is a parking lot for $17 for a full day near the ferry in Quebec City. I think we paid (senior) approx. $11 for us & the car to ferry over to Quebec City on our day of departure. It was very reasonable. There is ample parking, albeit tight, onsite at the Gite. We would definitely return. Thank you, Carole!!
