“Blissfully Private Getaway!”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

Recently spent one night with my sweetie at this amazingly private resort and it felt like we were away for a week! The room was spotless, warm and comfortable and the views spectacular, even on a rainy day. Loved the full size hot tub, wood burning fireplace and the well appointed kitchen. Next time we will bring our robes and slippers.

We have visited several times for the beauty, serenity, hot tub and privacy. For the price, a bit heavy for our budget, it would be nice to be able to open the sliding door without the help of a 220 lb friend. And if you want to lock the sliding door be prepared to donate some skin! Cabins are spotless and well appointed. A coat of outside paint on railings would improve view. None of these things will stop us from visiting again.

Room Tip: They all have great views.

Stayed at this property for my birthday, this was the second time we stayed. It is a quiet beautiful location. The owners remembered that it was my birthday from when I made reservation, and wished me a Happy Birthday at check in. ( small thing-but nice)It has a small kitchenette, remember to bring some supplies as there isn't a nearby convenience store or many restaurants.

Recommended for couples who want a quiet, peaceful and private place with all the comforts of home. Wonderful views from the patio and hot tub, and the overhanging roof means you can stay dry no matter what the weather. Bring your own robes, and slippers recommended as the floors are cooler tile. We will return!

Room Tip: All cabins are private

The beauty of the cottages at Fossil Bay resort is the complete privacy for the most wonderful romantic weekend one could want. King size bed, fireplace, ocean view from every window, private patio with hot tub...it is amazing! There are only 6 cottages at this little resort and it is a fair ways up the road from Sooke so pack your supplies wisely as when once you settle in you will not want to leave! Not a place to take kids or go with another couple. If you want you can run 6 km down the road to a fabulous restaurant called Point No Point. Reservations are suggested.

Room Tip: Every cabin is very private and has full ocean view, patio and hot tub on the deck. It does not mat...

Just returned from 5 nights at Fossil Bay Resort. We have been to this area many times, but this was our first visit to this resort.

The cottages were lovely--immaculately clean and contained all the conveniences we needed. Absolute and total privacy--it was bliss! Gorgeous views from the hot tub....

Best of all--they have a couple of cottages that take pets. Hard to find nice places that are animal friendly! They had a bowl for our dog, treats, bags, towels--you name it. They thought of what a dog owner would want/need.

We will most certainly be back!

After 10 years (or more) of staying here I still think it is the best place I've ever stayed. Where else do you get a king size bed, full kitchen, fireplace, full size hot tub that is on a cliff over the ocean and absolute privacy. What more could you want? Also Maria, (the owner) is about one of the most wonderful people you could ever meet! You will never go wrong staying here. And contrary to the couple of reviews that says they are expensive, look around and you will see that staying in a "cheap" hotel in downtown Victoria costs more for far less. Take a chance and I know you will love it!

!

Room Tip: they are all the same so all excellent
