As I mentioned in my review of the Stone Pipe Grill, also in Sooke, I find myself in this charming part of the West Coast of Vancouver Island an number of times every July/August as I attend events related to the Sooke Fine Arts Show.
On one of the evenings we stopped at the 17 Mile for dinner. The building is very old, being one of the coach stops on the way out of Victoria. For the West Coast it reeks of history!
The menu is standard pub grub with nice mix of choices. My friends had burgers and fries and I, in a fit of gluten free nobility, had an Asian style salad with chicken. As a treat, my friends started with a side of onion rings which were pronounced superb! The burgers were on nice buns with great fries, the salad was tasty and, in case you missed the title, they have Guinness on tap! Service was friendly and welcoming, too. We will be going back.
