“Big things in a Small Package”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

Really enjoyed a recent visit to the tourist Centre and Museum. The staff were very knowledgeable and had current information and literature on ALL of Vancouver Island areas and attractions. There is also a gift shop with better quality souvenirs and local artisans work for sale. The attached Museum has much local history on display with a very comprehensive and well executed series of dioramas and period objects and collectables. A unexpected pleasure to find this small, local Museum while out for a drive in the Sooke area.

“Gem of a museum in Sooke!”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

The Sooke Region Museum is a real gem. From the lighthouse to cottage and gift shop, it's a delightful stop while in Sooke. The Visitor Info Centre is located there too so it's an all-in-one destination. Great look at history of the area and they've done a terrific job presenting exhibits about the area and its background.

The staff were extremely helpful and the museum gave a taste of what life around Sooke would have been in the early days.

“Interesting Indoor and Outdoor Exhibits”
Reviewed April 20, 2014

This little museum (free entry) is combined with the local Tourist Centre. The museum has a number of interesting fixed exhibits depicting the Sooke region through its history, and outside, there are a number of historic buildings that have been relocated to the museum site.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and there is a small gift shop within the museum. A good place to stop for an hour if you are visiting.
