“No attention to detail”
Reviewed July 6, 2008

We stayed 2 nights at Point no Point just last week, with tax it was about $220 a night.

We really needed some R&R and luxury this is why we chose Point no Point.
We found the cabin to be nice and the view and bath outside to be amazing, if this is why you want to goto Point no Point please go, its awesome!
Other top reasons to stay are the property is there are amazing trails to walk on and beaches to explore. The resturant is top notch! these are all the good points to Point no Point!

My problem was there was no attention to detail. for $220 a night i excpect it, would you? I have stayed at cheaper places that were alot nicer.
Listen up Point no Point, this is what you need to improve!

#1 There was no coffee in the cabin. in the bathroom you get one bar of soap and a broken shampoo dispenser on the wall with no conditioner.

#2 The plates cups cutlery they supply are "rustic" to say the least, did they come from a flee market?

#3 The bed has to many covers, too many!!!! you can not snuggle properly, i would sugest getting rid of the bottom 3 layers.

#4 There is some insane extra heater in the bathroom ensuring its always super heated.

#5 There is no outlet in the bathroom to dry your hair!? WTF

#6 There is no outlet by there other mirror where you could shave or dry you hair, the closest one in on the stove, nice!

#7 There is no screen door, so when you have a fire you can only open one small window or the mozzy will get you!

#8 Another bathroom grip is it looks like it as done very cheeply, by high school students possibly? the tiling is all out of wack and the counter top is plasic? $220. a night remember!

#9 This really bothered me... The houskeeping! They state clearly in the manual that they come and make your bed and take out your garbage.
Well that really is it. we left a couple cups out and a few things in the bathroom etc nothing was touched!! nothing!
The toilet roll was empty when we left. when we came back i noticed they put the new one on and left the plasic on the counter and they didn't replenish our firewood! They took out the kitchen garbage and didnt even put a new bag in!?

I was a bit dissapointed. if Point no Point wants to advertise themselves as a "resort" then they need to act like one.
Right now they are a "self catering cabins" thats fine but not that that kind of price, i really expected more!

This place is just lovely.... very remote and quiet, even thought there are lots of cabins u feel alone. I stayed for 2 nights and hardly saw anyone. Had a private outdoor hottub on the deck that overlooked the sea. It was truly beautiful and the perfect place to relax. Staff were very friendly and personable. Didn't eat in the restaurant but the cabins were of big enough size for us to have food there. Comfy bed, sitting area, fire, board games and fresh towels delivered quite late so that you weren't disturbed.
Loved this place and would love to return.
Only down side is that info I had from property was a little misleading in that I was expecting it to be nearer to Sooke. Was a lot further than we thought and a little difficult to find.

  • Liked — OUtdoor hot tub and the view
  • Disliked — Misleading information on distance from Sooke.

Spent two nights in the "Eagle" cabin for our anniversary + had a fantastic dinner in the restaurant. It was a most memorable stay- soaking in the hot tub while it rained- waking up to a beautiful sunrise- driving to Botanical Beach & Botany Bay to explore- relaxing in front of the fire - discreet housekeeping- fantastic "mission style" furniture- super-comfy bed- fabulous staff- what more can one ask for??? Rain or shine this is a great place to re-connect with the people who matter most in your life-

My new husband and I had the distinct pleasure of spending our Honeymoon at this absolutely charming and beautiful resort. Located just 20 minutes outside of Sooke BC, Point No Point is truly one of the last places on earth that offer accomodations both lovely and peaceful for mind and body. After a busy month prior to our wedding, there was not a place more fitting for a couple to relax and connect. We stayed in the Eagle Cabin, which is only about 4-5 years old. We cooked our meals in our fully functional kitchen, and enjoyed lazy afternoons by our wood burning stove, and romantic star filled nights in our private hot tub off our our private deck. I can't say enough about how helpful and amazing the staff of this resort was. When the power went out due to a bad wind storm on our last morning there, we were greeted by a friendly staff member who brought us extra wood and kindling to keep our fire going and keep us toasty warm. The romance level of this lovely resort is off the charts, and that's just the accomodations!! The walking trails and scenery of both French Beach and China Beach were out of this world! We spent our 2nd afternoon sipping tea at the private Beach House, accesible only by Point No Point Guests, where a fire was already roaring when we arrived. On our last night we treated oursevles to dinner at the romantic Tea House, and had a culinary experience that matched the romance and magic of our entire stay. If you are in need of a get away from your television, telephone and Blackberry, make Point No Point your next desitnation!

  • Liked — The rustic nature of the resort and the private, relaxing atmosphere they provide!
  • Disliked — I don't have one complaint about this.

The management of this place have a terribble attitude. No sense of friendliness or hospitaility. We won't be coming back and advise others to avoid the place.

  • Disliked — Arrogant and totally indifferent management attitude. Very rude and condescending.

We stayed at this property in Sept 07. Some of the cabins are quite nice and rustic, but avoid units 5 though 8 at all costs. These are completely charmless, noisy and overpriced.

The standard of hospitalilty is low. The management seem to be completely smug, convinced that they have a 100% great property. The level of hosuekeeping is not good and the restaurant food is so-so.

Also beware the rather stringent cancellation and early checkout policies.

Overall an OK place for a few nights, but there are plenty of better choices elsewhere in the area.

We stayed in Sooke 3 nights during our vacation on Vancouver Island. IT WAS WONDERFUL! Sooke is a 30 minute drive from Victoria and is right on the coast. We stayed at Point-no-Point Resort, a group of secluded cabins right on the cliffs overlooking the bay surrounded by pine trees! The cabins are very spacious, have a bathroom and then an open area which included a small kitchen, table and chairs, bed, dresser, fireplace and comfortable sitting chairs. On the private deck was a hot tub where you can just sit and relax in the cool night air. There isn't a lot in Sooke besides nature and if you like nature and would like a little bit of seclusion to help you get away from it all then this is a perfect location!
