I could have stayed a week! I had read many reviews but was scared off initially by the prices, until a chance encounter and recommendation at a Portland restaurant led us to decide on this location. For a family of four (2 "children"-17 & 21), we normally need 2 standard rooms and were going to book that nearby but we were able to all stay comfortably in room 27. We paid a little extra but SO well worth it. My kids were in heaven-tub in the middle of the room with a view across the bay. My daughter even went in with her bathing suit on! What a tranquil way to start a vacation.
Perhaps little things could have been fixed beforehand-couple of lights out-but I just laughed and told the desk as we checked out.
Our host and hostess went out of there way-looking for a bicycle pump for our son and a screwdriver for my husbands glasses-all this (unbeknownst to me at the time) while they were entertaining guests for dinner.
I really enjoyed this area and lodging. Hope to return soon. And try out the sauna! Great way to start your day before walking on the spit.

Room Tip: Room 27 good for 4-loft with 2 singles and even an extra single downstairs.

My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay at Sooke Harbour House. The property is absolutely beautiful, the staff delightful, the art work throughout the House incredible, and the dining experience one of the best we have encountered in our travels. Great place to enjoyed nature while enjoying the luxuries of life. We highly recommended Sooke Harbour House and hope to return soon.

Room Tip: Room 25 was an excellent rrom as is the Blue Heron Room - privacy and faces the water and Mt Olympus .

Got the dining package which really helped with cost. Food was great. The room was really nice, the service was the best. Everything from the fireplace being setup to start to the tea and coffee. The garden tour was fun and informative. If you walk to the water and to the right you can see sea lions.

So relaxing, with the friendly staff, comfortable, spacious private oceanside rooms, views across the strait to Olympic Mountains, private fireplace and hot tub, the artwork to tour, the delightful dinners in the restaurant. Together with the Sooke area forests, river and beaches, the wildlife all around, this is a change of pace everyone will appreciate.

Room Tip: I believe all rooms have the ocean view, we loved the Emily Carr room, a famous local author and artist.

Check in came with an introduction to the property and our room; a classy touch that made us feel at home.

A satisfying retreat with a beautiful room and view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca looking up at the Olympic Mountains.

Gorgeous art work throught out and a dining room with four star cuisne and excellant attentive service.

The house (exterior) was in need of cleaning and maintenance (winter weathered with some dry rot on our room deck, bird droppings). The community computer had crashed so any use was not possible.
