“Just as I remembered - a piece of heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2011

As a family group, we stayed at Arbutus Cove 2 years ago, returning this April and happy to find that it was just as we remembered - simply wonderful. The weather was not perfect, but it didn't matter as our accommodations were warming and inviting, the hosts most attentive and full of ideas of things to do in the area. We stayed in the main house, but next time I'd love to go and take my husband to stay in one of the cottages for a few days.
If you're looking for a perfect getaway, this is the place to go.

We stayed here for a few nights last summer and had a lovely time. They double booked the Arbutus Guesthouse so upgraded us to the Dockside at no charge. The place was immaculate and it was a lovely experience for both my husband and I.

The only issue we had was that the place is listed as a "No kids" and there was a kid riding around on his bike. Not sure what happened there and it wasn't an issue for us as we have kids, but it might be an issue for those looking for an "adult only" escape.

The biking, the beaches, the attractions, the restaurants...it was all good! And then to retire to the home-like coziness of The Arbutus Cove Guesthouse was icing on the cake. Kathy's breakfasts are generous and nutritious, the rooms are immaculate and comfortable, and our special requests were accomodated.

We had a great one night stay at Arbutus cove. It is right on the Galloping Goose trail so we enjoyed hiking. We even had a dip in the ocean from the private beach on the property. We loved the help yourself kitchen and the beautiful gourmet breakfast. Our one night seemed liked a mini-holiday thanks to the resort-like atmosphere and the hot tub overlooking the cove. The owners are friendly and helpful. We would go back there in a heartbeat.

A group of nine cyclers, we booked this amazing place right on the Galloping Goose Trail. We cycled from Victoria and thought we would drop our paniers and continue on our bicycling tour and see more.........but we were in awe of this lovely place with it's large sunny deck overlooking the bay and decided to stay put and enjoy the sunshine and breathtaking beauty. Kathy and Mike are gracious hosts who have built much, if not all, the furniture and the grounds are impeccible. The rooms were wonderful, each with two queen beds, lovely down comforters and cozy decor. The common room had everything you could imagine from a kitchen, living area, with games and much more. Perfect for a group of friends on a weekend away. We all would go back in a heartbeat. Oh, and the breakfast was a better-than-continental display.

We really enjoyed the two nights we spent here. The B&B is in a great location with a deck looking out over the sea, and was very quiet and peaceful. It's not a traditional B&B in the sense that the rooms are completely separate from the main house, and you get your breakfast laid out on a tray in the common area in the morning so you get very little contact with the hosts. However the owner, Kathy, is really friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was really nice so it all worked well. Our room was nice - it had two queen beds which was a bit odd, but was actually really nice after several days spent in a small tent! We also really appreciated the hot tub.

Sunshine dancing on the water, a secluded cove, barking of sea lions, sail boats in the distance, arbutus trees along the shore, sitting in the hot tub outside our bedroom door, counting the stars - what more you could ask for? Spacious, tastefully decorated rooms opening onto the deck or balcony, huge common area with TV, fireplace, comfy leather sofa and chairs, many kitchen amenities. Gourmet continental breakfast - fresh fruits, warm homemade muffins, cheese, bagels, juice, and the best - a warm berry oatmeal crisp!
Kathy, Mike and little Beau make you feel very welcome and have excellent ideas of those "out of the way" places to visit.
If you want more privacy, there are 2 cottages with every convenience you could wish for.
