We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here after a hard day of biking on the P'tit Train du Nord. The location is wonderful, with a set of rapids just outside the door. The rooms was spacious with both a bath and a shower. Breakfast was superb and hearty. The hostess was engaging and helpful and her recommendation for a place to heat was spot on.

My husband and I stayed here on the third night of our 120 mile cycling trip on the Le P'tit Train du Nord Linear Park which is a trail with no cars. We made the travel arrangements through a free tourist bureau, www.laurentides.com, and were very happy with their services.

La Maison de Baviere is located right on a white water river. Most of the rooms overlook the river. Unfortunately ours didn't. I think I got the last room when I made the reservation. Next time I will reserve earlier so that I can get a room on the river. I enjoyed relaxing by the river.

The host, Josephine was very gracious. The breakfast was excellent.

We walked to the quaint town of La David. It was a short walk, maybe 1/8 of a mile. In the town square we were treated to a free concert by a group called Mel Bee. I liked them so much I bought their CD.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the river!

My husband and I spent two nights at La Maison de Baviere in August and can't imagine having found a more perfect place to start our vacation in Canada. The lovely Bavarian style home sits right on the Riviere du Nord, and from our window (the Haydn room), all you could hear was the sound of the water cascading over the rocks. The front lawn was a beautiful spot to just sit and listen and also people watch as there was a public footpath and bridge going over the river adjacent to the b&b (but not close enough or well-traveled enough to disturb your peace!). Though our room was small, it was very comfortable, immaculate, and well-decorated. Our next visit, we will try to get the larger room, also on the water side. Great location for walking the few short blocks to the center of Val David, which is a small, attractive town and very friendly. Several good restaurants and a fabulous bakery. The Petit Train du Nord bike trail literally runs right across the street from the inn, great for bikers. We opted to take our bikes on the car rack and drive north to the Mont Tremblant area, where we rode a section of the trail. Highly recommend Val David as the town to stay in though.... more quiet than some (which we preferred) but central to many other towns and attractions, and will definitely stay again at La Maison de Baviere when we go back to the area. Our only regret was not meeting the innkeeper, Josee, who was away, but had been so helpful and gracious during all our communications. Pascal, who stood in for her in her absence was great.

Room Tip: Definitely on the water side; if you want a larger room, ask for the Beethoven suite.

This B&B is outstanding. Josee, the proprietor, is very knowledgeable & gave great advice for our whole trip along the Petit Train du Nord bike path. The grounds were beautiful. The room was lovely & clean. Breakfast was delicious. I wish we could have spent more time there!

Room Tip: The "Beethoven" room has a GREAT view of the river

This lovely little B&B is right between the P'tit Train du Nord bike path and the river. There are some small falls/rapids right next to the house and you can listen to the rushing water all night. So relaxing! This place was decorated and designed with a lot of love. It's very charming and whimsical and laid out to take advantage of the views of the river. Our room was the smallest but still comfortable and well-outfitted with a small bathroom and a stall shower. The room my parents were in was very large with a nice patio overlooking the river and a big claw foot tub. The common area is very comfortable and has a mini fridge to store food and drinks and a nice coffee/water station set-up for refreshment. The breakfast room downstairs was very cozy and breakfast was delicious! Smoothies, yogurt and granola, a delicious egg dish - all very good and fortifying! There is a nice garden in back overlooking the falls and the little wooden footbridge and a shed to lock up bikes overnight. It's a short walk to the center of town and all the restaurants and shops there.

I would probably not recommend this place for families with small children. The stairs to the breakfast room are pretty steep and the loft area over the breakfast room does not have banisters in some places and all the rooms have one bed only. However, I would love to go back to this place with just my husband or a group of couples or some girlfriends. It's a romantic spot. I loved it.

This beautiful B&B is perfectly located for cyclists who are traveling on the Petit Train du Nord bike path up through the Quebec Laurentians. Some rooms overlook a beautiful water fall. After dinner, we relaxed in the living room. For dinner, we got food from the Metro store and had a lovely picnic at a table by the waterfall. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the waterfall.

We stayed at this very charming and romantic B&B the last night of our bike trip on P'tit Trin du Nord. We arrived early afternoon after 50 km biking and had a fresh shower in a nice and clean room. After a five minute walk to the village, we returned shortly with a bottle of white wine that we shared in this very nice and romantic garden next to the river. The hostess was very kind to us and served us a very good breakfast the following morning prior to our last leg to Saint Jerome. This is a B&B that we will strongly recomend!
