Stopped for lunch. Not the fastest place but the food was good. Generous slice of cheese on the burgers and sandwiches and great homemade soup. I would stop again without hesitation.

We stopped at this restaurant to try the polish cuisine but there is much more on the menu. It is a mix of polish, local (pickerel), carribean, indian. We had the cabbage rolls and the wiener schnitzel and it was the best cabbage rolls I have had. All this with delicious perogies and spatzle. What more to ask for? The wine list is extensive, the setting is nice, with a terrace and a nice view of the lake. A gem in the Wawa wilderness.

Perhaps this IS the best you will find in Wawa - I don't doubt it - but it has a lot of atmosphere and only so-so food plus VERY slow service. Three of us stopped in for lunch, drawn in by the rustic charm - both inside and outside - and the fact that the place next door that we wanted to eat at was not open, although their sign said they were (And kind of rude about it too.) The single server on duty was very nice and tried her best but the kitchen was just so slow. Lots of "dressing" on the table - clothes, cups and saucers - shiny tile on the floor, artifacts on the log walls and big windows - really, quite a pleasant room. But the food was very humdrum and served with no imagination at all. We had a fried egg and tomato sandwich (interesting combo!) that came with no garnish and on store-bought very ordinary bread. Nothing else on the plate. With that, we had ordered soup of the day which was a vegetable in a tomato base; it tasted ok but I won't go into any detail as to how my system responded to it. Coffee was ok and served in those small cups rather than a coffee mug. What bugged my daughter a lot was that our server took orders out of turn; and as the service was so slow, people who had arrived after us were eating long before us. How long does it take to make a sandwich without even a fancy toothpick stuck in it for decoration? And dish out soup that is already made in a big pot? A third dish was a chicken Caesar wrap, again, a very plain presentation but ok. We did not have the time or inclination to wait around for dessert. Perhaps we missed the boat by not ordering ethnic food but there were not that many choices on the menu, and I questioned the wisdom of ordering shark or whatever the exotic Trinidadian fish was, in Wawa. Pass this spot by and find a Subway or an A&W where at least you know what you are getting.

It's amazing that in a town of 1000 people, you would find such a jewel of a restaurant! With Oriental, Trinidad, Vegetarian, and Canadian dishes, and the best Roulade I've ever had, charming and rustic ambiance, you can even watch a beautiful sunset. Sit inside or out on the deck and enjoy calm water with beautiful reflections of sky and flora. Service was relaxed but attentive.Though not an inexpensive restaurant, the menu prices reflected the quality and presentation of the food. Take your time and enjoy yourself; it may be very well be your best meal on The Circle Route!

If you travel the north shore route you quickly find your favourite places - and this is one of them. Beautiful location just outside of Wawa and with excellent food. The preparation time is lengthy, so you could get frustrated if you are in a hurry, but the quality is very good and the food is always fresh. Settle in and enjoy the scenery. If you are close for breakfast, go for the pancakes which are almost muffin like and go well either with eggs, bacon or just syrup.
