Caribbean twist to the menu. The owners are originally from Trinidad Tobago and have a flare with blending dishes familiar to us with a slight Caribbean "adjustment". There is great variety on the menu and all patrons, while we were there, were boisterous about their ravings for their meals.

We even heard a patron discussing their sighting of a pair of moose at the bottom of the picturesque valley outside the restaurant window of terrific vistas.

We went for dinner at this little restaurant after checking in to the White Fang Motel across the road.
Who would expect to find fine dining 5 km south of Wawa!
The service was certainly not fast but it was good and we found the food excellent.
This is not the place to stop if you are in a hurry but if you are looking for a good leisurely meal, I highly recommend it.

On Sunday August 4 we went there to have a nice dinning experience and turned out to be a irritating place to visit. We walked in the door at 20 minutes after 5. The cook took our order around 5:30. At approx. 6pm we got a bowl of soup and this bowl of soup was only enough to cover the bottom of the bowl.......at least 4 large spoonful's. The soup tasted like warmed up no name vegetable soup (gross). So we waited and waited and waited for our meal to come. I was watching the cook and it look likes he could only prepare one dish at a time. When the waitress was serving the food, one dish would come out of the kitchen at a time. She would deliver the dish and one person at each table would have there meal alone, then another dish would come out. No-one at the tables ate together.

So........it is now 20 minutes to 7 and I said to my husband that this is ridiculous and let's go some where else. Now the urge to have a nice has now passed. We were waiting about a hour and half. We finally left..........because we were not getting anything there to eat that night. They actually charged us $7.91 for the gross soup they served.

We went back into Wawa and by the time we actually had something to eat was 7:20pm and it was only sandwiches.

Well..........I am sure we are not the only people who ever walked out of that restaurant. They need some chef training and server training and also how to multi task when preparing a meal.

Other people were also complaining the same time that we were in the restaurant. Well they are going to loose a lot of profits. Maybe they don't care. It doesn't take an hour and half to get a meal served.

We will never go back to this restaurant. They also need to learn how to make soup.

DON'T go there if hungry because you will wait and wait and wait. And don't let anyone tell you it takes time to cook good food from scratch. Many do it at home in half the time without help or prepped ingredients. The soup had canned commercial vegetable soup as a base! The mixed vegetables accompanying the Rouladen had been so heavily sweetened I could not finish them and I used to be a vegetarian! The veal cutlet was overcooked and chewy.

Final note: when it's time to pay, the server gives you the final tally of your meal without ever showing you an itemized bill. Are we to understand that the cooks in the kitchen might be flawed, but the young waitress at front of house is not and never could be? We've encountered this same practice in another establishment and will not revisit that one either.
