I have been caming here now for 18 yrs
My son 16 since when he was born.
We have met and come and stay with the same great families and friends every year.
Flyfishing is fantastic your guaranteed
A catch. The River runs through it and just beautiful.

As with the less rated reviews,
Maybe some do not understand what and how hard it is to find hard working
Managers to ensure cleanliness and our safety.
All campgrounds get a few yahoos who ruin it for others but that has always been dealt with ASAP.

North and South of here there is nothing like it.
Campsites are spacious and no cement
Site camping just natures beauty.

We stayed over the Canada day long weekend and I couldn't believe how awesome or stay was. The manager, Will, was phenomenal. I booked two sites that looked to be across from each other on the map and when we arrived we realized that they were actually fairly far apart from each other. They had no problem moving our other group to a site that was right across from our site. Our kids loved the big park as well as the little park right beside the river. The washrooms were kept very clean. We will definitely be going back here at least once a year :)

The HOSTS, were exactly that. I have been to too many camp sites that have "security" instead of hosts. The people running it now totally showed how much they truly care, everything from lending our neighbor a grill for over the fire, or offering to lend me a water hose because I forgot mine at home, to installing the childrens' play area near to the river access, or the immaculate washrooms and showers. We were 6 adults and 3 children and absolutely everyone had a blast and was sad to be leaving. We all look forward to going back again!
Of course the beauty of the campgrounds and the river is nothing short of amazing as well.

This was our first time here. We stayed for two nights, showing up very tired after a day of traveling in our motorhome. We have lived on Vancouver Island for over thirty years and have camped in so many places and have never come across such a warm welcome on a hot day. Will and his wife went above and beyond to make our stay one we will never forget. The sites are immaculately maintained, the campground is clean, safe and family oriented. The campground backs onto a river which flows into the ocean which you can take your kayaks on and discover a few rapids and it is close enough that you can walk across the highway with your kayaks back to the campground. There are very private sites, plus group camping sites and a large covered area to have multi family cook outs. Hot showers, flush toilets, kids play areas and a kIdz zone with video games if you are there on a rainy day. Lots of goodies in the store, books, candy bars, chips and ice cream. This campground was previously very run down from the past managers but Will and his wife have completely turned it around. We will definitely return. Thanks Will. You are amazing at your job. We have been coming here for a few years now and our last couple of weekend trips showed a lot has changed. The sites look great and well maintained, the old cookhouse has been revamped and everything looks amazing. The new managers have really had a go at the place. Can't wait to go back and see what else is new and improved. We've been back twice and each time something is a little better and brighter.

Our family spent the entire Easter weekend there and it was really nice. We have 4 kids and they can't wait to go back there on our next summer outing! The weather was sunny & warm, but the river was too cold to go in. There are lots of trees for shade & privacy. Some campgrounds we've been to are heavily paved with very few trees and not much grass-this place is completely the opposite. It's a real treat to camp along side the river. The playground was nice, but could use some more play structures. The kids spent a lot of time riding their bikes through all the trails they have. I found the bathrooms & showers very clean everytime-not sure about the other reviews. The store was not well stocked when we were there, but I was told the new mangers are bringing in way more stuff in time for the busy season. I would highly reccomend this place.

We, (my wife and I) spent a two week period here and I can honestly say the place was as nice as any we have stayed at. The RV sites are larger than normal and we had a beautiful site by the river. As for tent sites, the ones by the river are small, but if you look away from the river the sites are very big. We had no problems with washrooms although there seemed to be a bunch of destructive children that enjoyed messing things up we chalked this up to poor parenting . We will be going back there again this summer.

Room Tip: Site 42 is right on the river with full hookups. good fishing! sites across are huge and open.
