“So Relaxing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

Jaimie was a lovely host and graciously allowed my Nana to come for a 'tour' of the sphere Eve at check in. We loved the relaxation and comfort of the smallest, oldest sphere. Washrooms and a hot shower just a minute walk away. I had been dreaming of staying in one of these spheres for a long time and it did not disappoint, we wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!

Room Tip: Eve has a small bed, we were comfortable with him on the outside and myself (being smaller) on the i...

These things are great. Tiny and nestled among the trees you'll sleep in a cleverly arranged and nicely appointed sphere. The spheres arranged so that you can gaze out into the trees and see birds and forest not other guests.

The owners of the property are nice and can recommend some good restaurants in town or you can use the common kitchen to cook or grill outdoors. There's also a lovely sauna and full bath so that you can pamper yourself.

For our 15 year anniversary we decided to stay somewhere different. A friend told us about this place and once we checked it out online, we knew we had to stay here. WOW! We stayed in Melody and she is truly beautiful and a labour of love. All the spheres are! Tom and Rosey are truly remarkable people and wonderful hosts. They go above and beyond to ensure your stay is magical.

To listen to their stories and hear Tom talk about building these spheres, truly makes you appreciate where you are staying. The spheres are clean and actually spacious. If you bring your laptop to watch a movie or your MP3 player for music the acoustics in the sphere is incredible. I also recommend you go into the sphere they have at the front of the property which is just a shell and stand in the middle and talk...wickedly weird acoustics!

If you want to get away from it all and truly enjoy nature and each other, or just try something totally different...go here. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. We plan to return in September. Thanks Tom & Rosey!

Room Tip: Melody is away from the other two spheres, more private.

We all loved it. The spheres are cozy, warm, comfortable, and so well-designed to use the space efficiently. They're in a beautiful setting, plus it's just plain fun to experience something so different. I made it a surprise for the others, because there's just nothing else like it.

The hosts are wonderful and have thought of everything.

Be sure to arrive at check-in time to maximize your enjoyment, and the "snack" will be fine for a light breakfast, so don't rush away too soon.

Room Tip: Read their website thoroughly.

I agree with all of the reviews in TripAdvisor. It was a lovely experience. Both of us are used to travelling in small spaces and have seen some really amazing places in North America and beyond, so this was not as unique as we had expected. But a very pleasurable one (even though both of us were suffering from colds!). The outhouse at the bottom of the stairs was clean and had no odor, so it didn't bother us. The sauna in the mornings was very much appreciated by our suffering-with-colds- bodies. The ONLY recommendation I would make to the owners is they supply better pillows. Why cheap out on something so important when you've done such an incredible job on the craftmanship of the spheres?

I thought two nights was perfect for the stay, but keep in mind it's about $200/night.

A bubble, orb, globe hanging from a tree is quite the experience. Yes, like hippie heaven.

My boyfriend and I planned a weekend trip to Vancouver and then we found the Free Spirit Spheres but we knew we couldn't pass it up. We took the Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay ferry ($86 one-way, took two hours and is very nice) and then it was another like 45-min drive north once we got on Vancouver Island. We got there around 3pm and were immediately greeted by Tom. I can't begin to tell you how completely hospitable and fun to talk to he is. Seeing his dreams come to reality and hearing him speak about it is so inspiring. The entire environment is so serene, it was impossible to not kick back and relax (plus the sauna on-site helped). We had the pleasure of staying in Eryn and even though my boyfriend is 6'5" we weren't the least bit cramped, there is more than enough space. We brought food to have a picnic, but there is a grill on-site if you want to cook out. There's a tiny fridge in the sphere (enough to hold everything we brought) and another shared fridge in the bathhouse kitchen. Unfortunately we had to leave early the next morning to be able to catch our flight out, but we are soooo glad we stayed here! With the ferry trips from Vancouver plus the stay, it definitely ended being quite an expensive night, but it was absolutely worth. You can't put a price on an experience like that. We want to buy one so bad and put it in our own backyard, it is seriously such a cool experience. We would do it again in a heartbeat. Not to mention our friends and family were all jealous!

I had the pleasure of staying 1 night in Eryn and 1 night in Melody with a work college staying in Eve.We came to Horne Lake with a large group who were staying at Horne Lake campsite.I opted to stay at Free Spirit Spheres. The experience of a lifetime! They are guaranteed to be unlike anything that you have ever stayed in. Truely one of a kind.Eve & Eryn are beside one another and Melody (The Honeymooners Sphere) is located a short walk down the path. All Spheres overlook a tranquil pond. There is a bath house with two seperate flushing toilets and shower areas, one with a sauna. The experience was the most glorious, luxurious form of "camping" imaginable. Sleeping in a pod hanging from a tree surrounded by the beauty of nature.I felt the gentle swaying of the sphere in the wind as i rested in peacefully & uniterrupted. I would highly recommend this unique place of beauty to a person who is looking to "get away from it all", "find solstice","clearing of the mind",for those who seek the imense beauty of nature and crave the feeling of peaceful serenity.

Room Tip: Eve is the smallest but still amazing.Eve and Eryn and located beside one another.Eryn and Melody bo...
