Overlooking the St. Lawrence river. Beautiful sunset views, rooms with balconies..Variety of accomodation. Able to walk by the river. Very good Dining Room.
Staff very friendly, helpful and available.
I have stayed twice on a drive to Cape Breton. Unfortunately closed for the season when I was driving home after Thanksgiving.
A great place to stay for an overnight or a few days to explore this lovely area.

Room Tip: Room with a balcony or one with patio doors looking to the river.

This place has a beautiful location, with stunning views overlooking the water. They have beautiful sunsets. Would have liked to be out on their patios to view them, but sadly it was too cold.

The room was spacious and the views gorgeous from our deck.
Quiet room, good shower, nice bedding and pillows. Unfortunately, the only reason I didn't give it an "excellent" rating, was the uncomfortable bed. My husband and I both woke up with stiff backs. However, due to the overall amenities,I would go back.

We made reservations online for the bar for dinner, but they had no record of it-said the system doesn't work for the bar(then it should not be listed online) Luckily,it wasn't busy and we were able to get in. The servers were excellent, service great and the bar food was top quality.Had an enjoyable evening there.

I recommend this hotel...just ask for a room with newer beds(if they have them)

Room Tip: Water-view rooms

Beautifully situated on the gorgeous St Lawrence river.
Very comfortable beds, generous towels, clean, quiet and relaxing.
The best part is the excellent dining room.....terrific cuisine and wine list.
This is not your average motel stop en route through the Maritimes.
Well worth the price!

Room Tip: Pavilion des Iles #138......what a view!

The Auberge de la Pointe was one of the first places we stayed on our trip "back east".

And having returned from our trip, I have to say that the Auberge de la Pointe was by far the best value of anyplace we stayed.

It's deceiving because on line, it looks like a small auberge but in fact, consists of several buildings and offers all the amenities one expects from a high end hotel.

We had a wonderfully appointed room with an even more wonderful view of the St. Lawrence River.

A tipping point for me is "above bed lighting" because often one wants to read during the night and not have to get up to turn on a light. (I know that sounds picky but am sure you know what I mean.)

The bar was great, had a lovely view, and the bar food and wine were good and reasonably priced.

Riviere du Loup is a lovely town -- so much so that we made a point of returning on our way back to Montreal.

On the rest of our trip, we paid three times the rate charged by the Auberge de la Pointe for hotels that offered far less.

I can't recommend this hotel highly enough in terms of value, location and amenities.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the St. Lawrence River.

We never expected this hotel to be so well situated facing the water-rooms were a little small but efficient and well equipped-wifi was good-breakfast (surcharge) was great-the hotel has a lot of walking area-very spacious-staff were extremely friendly-would go back there again for a longer time
