My friend and I stayed here before taking the ferry to St. Simeon. The location is only a couple of miles to the ferry terminal but a bit of a distance out of town. Our room was in the older section facing the road. It is not connected to the restaurant or pool area. Room was dated, stains on the carpet and chairs. Bed and bathroom were clean. Fridge was a plus. Area was quiet. We did not try the restaurant. Biggest plus (along with short drive to the ferry) was the pool and hot tub which opened at 8 am. The pool is large and the whole layout is very nice with an attendant on duty. We would like to have been able to get coffee and muffins to go but the restaurant was only set up for table service. We did discover a convenient little place right next to the ferry terminal that has coffee, muffins, sandwiches, etc. There is also a little place across from the hotel that serves fast food and ice cream if you don't want to travel far for a bite to eat. Another plus for this place is the English speaking front desk staff. Would probably try another hotel if in the area again although the pool is a draw.

Fooled by deceiving pictures on Internet and unfortunately was put in old part on check in.
Good god- don't accept a room there. When they had the exterminator in, they forgot to vacuum up all the bugs I found under the bed lying belly up. Looked like carpet beetles or something similar.?? Rooms in old part also dark with badly stained carpets. White powder around base boards probably insecticide.
Complaining to management was put in newer section which was a bit better but no AC for hot evening. No apologies only admission rooms in old part were sprayed.
One positive point was the million dollar view from patio but not from our room.

Room Tip: Rooms 150 up in old part are disasters. Demand newer part and a balcony .

A very nice hotel. The rolls we were in were a bit older but still in good shape. I would strongly recommend taking the table d'hôte as it includes both dinner and breakfast, and especially the dinner was outstanding. But the best part of hotel is the terrace bar, which offers a great view over the St Laurens river.
Strongly recommend and will return

Second stay at Auberge de la Pointe and again, it delivered. This time we were in the newer building, overlooking the water - with a balcony. Room was clean, beds comfortable. We opted for the $50 pp all in meal plan including breakfast and supper. A bargain; food was good and service was excellent. My friend did not feel well and the hotel willingly sent breakfast up to our room - much appreciated.

The walks near the hotel are superb - beach and walking paths and views are outstanding. To my way of thinking, this is the place to stay in R-d-L.

The hotel has a lot of rooms and a lot of them are not located in the main hotel. The pool was not close to the room we stayed in. We stayed in a room with a balcony overlooking the St. Lawrence. It was very hot and there was no air conditioning in the room but opening the patio door and the window created a cross draft, but if you need air conditioning you should tell them when you book the room. The rooms were very clean. For your information, there was no ice machine in the building we were located in.

We stayed in this hotel in our way to Charlottetown. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the staff were helpful. The view of the river is amazing and it is very close to a nature pathway to enjoy the walk.

Room Tip: With view of the river

We were on our way to the Maritimes, so we stopped in Riviere-du-Loup simply to overnight in a hotel room. For the price we paid, it was decent - we got a room with 2 double beds and a single bed, a rare combination which was nice as we're a larger family with more kids. We arrived late, left early, so we had no time to check out any of the facilities or the restaurant. The carpet was a bit smelly, and the carpet and one of the lounge chairs clearly had some extensive stains on it. Not impressed. I find it hard to believe this is 4 star property, maybe there were larger and nicer rooms elsewhere with a river view, we got one of the ground level rooms next to the road.
