“Healthy and scrumptious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2012

My husband and I stopped in Rivière de Loup on our road trip, and asked a few locals if there was a vegetarian restaurant. No luck. We wandered around downtown and stumbled upon this place. We went in and spoke to be lovely chef and explained our dietary needs (one of us is vegetarian, neither of us eat wheat) and he didn't flinch! We each ordered a crèpe (one vegetarian curry and one salmon). Before the meal the chef brought us an amazing appetizer (on the house) and then our crèpes arrived. Both of us LOVED our meals! I said "wow!" more than a few times. The flavours were very unique, the portion size was perfect, and the side salad was really fresh and wonderful. It was so unique and truly delicious. We would go there all the time if we lived there! Ambiance was also lovely, patio is great

“Great Fun and Young”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 10, 2012

We stopped on our way to Montreal for lunch.

This is a great bohemian student stop.

The cuisine has a Mediterranean slant. Lots of lamb; done with rice, in a fajita or by itself. It’s all good.

Service is fast and friendly.

The outdoor seating along the side of the restaurant is a fun place to eat with lots of flowers and sunshine.

Wine list could use a jolt but great teas, lemonade and beers.

Great place for lunch.

“Quite good!”

We had the penne with vegetables and the "crepe pacifique" (lovely sweet/savory crepe with salmon and feta). Both were delicious, and the side salad was also very nice. Definitely recommend it!

“Surprised”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2012

I have been visiting Rivière du Loup for a couple of years. I have ate at different restaurants but never knew about l'innocent.
I was surprised by the quality of food, so tasty, everything is home made and you can smell the aroma in this place.
Cannot beat the price quality ratio,

“YUM!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2012

Although the furniture and paint job may be slightly shabby, the food is as vibrant as the locally produced photography lining the walls. To start the meal I ordered a regular coffee and was so thrilled to be given a cafe americano. Real espresso! Before our main courses came out, the chef sent us complimentary appetizers that consisted of a little corn-meal patty with sour cream au gratin and spicy chipotle sauce. Zesty and smooth and the patty had a little satisfying heft to it. Our crepes were filling and fabulous. The crepe itself was sweet, but just enough to compliment the savouriness of the salmon filling. On top of all this, the service was friendly and prompt and the chef/owner is a lovely guy to chat with. It is completely worth getting of the highway to eat at this saucy little joint.
