While selecting a place to stay the Web Page caught my attention. We had eaten at the Restaurant numerous times and were always very pleased, thus, we figured the Inn would be equally satisfying. Boy were we wrong, the room was small, with a stained, worn indoor/outdoor carpet and a noisy air conditioner. The bathroom, recently renovated by an amateur, was clean but cramped, it was large enough for a shower tub, but not for a toilet and vanity. The double bed was reasonably comfortable but left little room for anything else and as result there was only one parson's chair to use beyond sitting on the bed or toilet. There was a slot for an in-room smoke alarm but no alarm, and the recently painted door virtually had to be pried open. While we found the staff and owners personable, and working hard to make a go of things and probably doing most of the renovations by themselves, it made it difficult for me to write this review as we do wish them well. However this was not a pleasant experience for us and definitely not worth the money.

Room Tip: Try another hotel.

Unfriendly staff, but everything was clean and the beds are comfortable. Good breakfast, and only a few steps from the lovely main street of St. Andrews. The town itself was a very pleasant surprise, really quaint with lots of cute shops and access to whale watching tours right from the pier.

When you walk in this place you know it is a family that runs it with a passion for what they do. The owner is a gifted chef and artist in his culinary talents. His wife has her art work throughout the Inn and it was a joy to be in her "art gallery". We got the couples getaway package and it worth every penny! The food was so amazing!!!! It was walking distance to everything and the staff was amazing!!! GO!!!!

The Europa Inn and Restaurant provided my wife and I a one night layover as we began our 10 day trip through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The Inn is still a renovation in progress, but in my estimation is still a good venue. The owner Marcus Ritter is a gifted chef, and many of the common areas are filled with his wife's paintings. Our room was a bit on the small side, but very clean and functional and we had a small balcony overlooking (almost) the bay. The highlight of our stay was our dinning experiences. Great food - especially if you like German fare and home prepared spatzel. Yes, there are still some rough pieces to the renovation, but they are making an effort to provide a nice venue and an enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the water side.

This hotel was sparkling clean. The room, the linens and the bathroom were very nice and clean without perfume or chemical smells which is very important to me and anyone that has allergies. The room was small and compact but the cleanliness more than made up for that. The family that owns and runs this hotel is friendly and professional in how they handle their guests. The breakfast was great. One could order from at least five choices on a menu. The owner is also a chef and it is obvious he cares about his restaurant and quality of the food. It is conveniently located for all activities in the town.

Room Tip: I did not see any other rooms except the one we were assigned. They do have rooms with balconies tha...

We were very disappointed with our stay here. The staff was not very friendly and it seemed although they say "pet friendly" they were not thrilled to have us or our pets there. We checked in at a weird restaurant desk and while my dog was sweetly rolling on his back on the cheap indoor outdoor commercial carpet the person checking us in looked none to amused. Then we walk through a "shim sham" of a hotel looking to be in various stages of repair that has not been finished in years. The actual room was nice. The best way to describe it is it had the parts of a Mercedes but the fit and finish of a Hyundai. It looks like someone is a half assed repair man and tries to do things themselves unsuccessfully. Our room had an outdoor deck that was disgusting and unfinished. If you look at the place from the front it seems okay except for the weed bed all along the front and the broken railing you better not grab onto but don't you dare walk anywhere else around the building. Looks like a hoarder of building materials and children's junk decided to just throw things everywhere. The building is in various stages of repair. "Stages" being the operative word. Looks like some of the repairs have been waiting years. It was not what you expect paying in upwards of $150 a night. The person checking us in made sure to tell us the dogs were not allowed on the bed and I can see why. The bed was the nicest part of our whole stay! Overall the Europa Inn needs someone to get in there and finish the work and clean the place up and certainly is trying very hard to be a pricey ritzy Inn but is failing miserably. If you are looking for class and luxury the price tag fits but the experience will leave you feeling like you overpaid for sure.

We had two rooms booked for one night. All was as expected at arrival. One room was a bachelor queen, which has a small kitchen. The other was a more standard queen room. This is a nice place for the price. As others have mentioned the hotel has been recently and slowly renovated. There are certainly a few quirks. There was a missing towel rack in our bathroom but the bathroom was otherwise very nice. The bed was comfortable. The room had plenty of storage space. And having the kitchen would be nice on a longer stay. We also had a very solid dinner at the restaurant. The place feels very new because of the renovations, and if it were not for just a few rough edges I'd rate it even higher.
