We took the afternoon tour with Captain Dave on his zodiac. There were 12 people on board and everyone had lots of space and excellent sightlines. Not crowded at all. It was 36 degrees so putting on the water survival suit was torture but once we got on the water, it was very comfortable. We saw seals, a bald eagle, porpoises and two minke whales, one of which breached about 5 or 6 times right beside our boat. Captain Dave says this only happens once or twice a summer so we were very lucky. The boat ride was fun and seeing the whales so close to the boat free in nature was amazing. Amazing experience.

Skip really knows his buisness. If your looking for a special experience, in that I mean not on a overcrowded boat this is the boat to book. We were able to see Minke's up close! Skip pointed out "slice" a special whale that has been in the bay for a number of years. My wife and I had an awsome time. I was able to take many photographs. Highly recommended!

We went on a morning (10am) tour on a beautiful sunny day. So happy we chose the company that offers the zodiac- we were a nice small group and could zip around the bay quickly. The captain was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour.
Even on a 30 degree day a sweater was needed! We saw two different species of whales close up, seals, bald eagle and more. I would recommend this adventure to everyone!

Today my husband and our 3 children (8, 12 & 14), my sister and her 2 children (9&12) and our mother (I won't say 65) enjoyed a whale watching adventure with Captain Dave. This would be our fourth whale watching adventure over the past 20 years and without a doubt Fundy Tide Runners provided a superiour experience compared to the other companies. Captain Dave made us feel very secure and within what felt like a short 2 hour period his agile zodiac enabled us to see far more sights than previous tours. Make sure you ask Captain Dave to take a bow at the end of the trip. He provides a good mixture of comedy and education that is very enjoyable. He admits to a lack of modesty but then again, "if you are good ...you are good". Thank you to Dave and the entire Fundy Tide Runner team for providing some great family time.

I took my girls (age eight) and some friends whale watching on Canada Day afternoon. Miraculously the fog lifted (as Dave predicted it would) and we had terrific visibility. Gorgeous scenery on the Passamaquoddy Bay. We travelled comfortably on the zodiac out to Head Harbour, Campobello. We approached harbour and gray seals that were resting on the seaweed covered rocks at low tide and enjoyed watching them. Fin back and minke whales were sighted nearby and we had great views. I think what distinguished this trip from other whale watching outings was Dave's ease with children and interest in ensuring that everyone enjoyed their outing, the focus on safety and comfort (waterproof outergear provided for everyone including mandatory lifejackets on children) and the convenience of a zodiac. It was great to be able to zip out to the best locations in very little time so more time could be spent watching whales, seals and porpoises. This was an amazing experience and the highlight of our nine day trip to the Maritimes.
