Fundy Tide Runners delivers exactly what their web site advertise!.

We observed many (4-6) Fin Whales near our boat for over 55 minutes and some seals on the trip back to the dock. The boat ride was stable, fast and fun, however the cataraman vessel also operating out of St Andrews is only slightly slower. It appears that all the fast whale watching vessels have the same amount of wildlife viewing time, the difference is in their transit times. The zodiac has a quicker transit time however your time on the water is also less than other vessels. Choose the zodiac if your time is short and/or you do not mind being out in the open the whole trip.

At the end of the trip there was delious lemonade for all, which was appreciated after the 2 hours on the water. David kept all the kids entertained and was friendly with all the passengers.

Whale watching is a highly recommended activity!

This year was our third time with the Fundy Tide Runners and we were not dissappointed!!! We did not see as much this year due to a huge fog but we were still able to follow a pod of Finback whales, "play" hide and seek with a seal and stop long enough by a rocky island to examine a colony of seals resting. Lots of fun!!! Tottally recommand these guys if you are in St-Andrews!!

David Welch kept us entertained with his facts and fun throughout the trip.We enjoyed seeing five finback whales that have been visiting recently. Lots of seals and birds. David provided an adventure that I will remember. David explained to us about listening for whale breaches and made it fun for my fellow adventurers to call out the locations of the whales as they surfaced. Special thanks to my Maritimes friend who insisted that we would get more excitement from Fundy Tide Runners and their Zodiac. For those worried about getting soaked, we only got wet on our trip because of the mist off the water.

I've been on this tour 4 times, and I'll be back for 5, 6, 7... !
The boat ride alone is a fun time.

If you want one of these "cash back if no whale sightings" tours- go to SeaWorld.

Be sure visit the washroom first- none on-site.

This was the highlight of our family's trip to Eastern Canada. Both of our son's had already done whale watching at Bamfield on Vancouver Island, but both said this was way more fun. Unfortunately we did not see any whales, but none the less, we had a lot of fun speeding around in the Zodiac boat. One reason we booked with Tide Runners is because of the Zodiac ride and the small group. It was great. The Zodiac goes ripping along at a fast speed, and you feel safe the entire time. But don't wear any loose hats and make sure you clip or tie back long hair. Wear sunglasses and sunscreen. It may be better to wear your eyeglasses instead of contacts because of the wind and the sea spray. At high speeds, there is some spray, so be prepared for it and enjoy it. We went in July, and with the heavy Mustang survival suits, we were fine just wearing shorts and light tops. In fact we were quite hot at first. My sons' feet were very hot in their runners, but I was fine in my hiker style sandals. Our boat operator went out of his way to try to locate a whale and even offered to extend the ride because ours was the last booking of the day. We saw some seals and a herring ball, though, and the ride and the views were well worth it. Make sure you allow for enough time to walk around the town, visit the shops and enjoy a meal.
