“Very special”

This was an exceptional B&B. from the moment you walk in the door Joe and Rose-Anne make you feel special. We stayed in the Jardin Marie room which is the smallest of the 3 ensuite rooms. Small is a relative term as there was more than enough room for 2 people with a very roomy bathroom. We especially loved its location tucked into the back of the house on the second floor with a second door that separates it from the hallway. You can't hear a thing. The house itself was also perfectly located within about a 5 minute walk to the waterfront.

What makes this B&B special are the little extras that are provided - a breakfast menu in your room each night, a chalkboard in the dining room each morning with the weather forecast, etc. There are a number of such touches that set this place apart from many others. And then there are the breakfasts. Fresh fruit is followed by a homemade muffin of the highest quality and creative combinations of ingredients. The hot portion of the meal the first morning was eggs Benedict made with REAL Canadian bacon cut from a slab, not the round processed slices you usually see. The entire dish literally melted in your mouth. The second morning we were served cream cheese and strawberry stuffed French toast that was out of this world. This is one of those rare B&B's that one makes a point to return to over and over again.

This was the last stop on a 2-week Maritimes getaway, and we're glad we chose Montague Rose. Joe provided a great breakfast (too good - I need to exercize off several pounds) and was very helpful with directions. The area was quiet: we got a good rest before the last 500-mile leg of our trip. We found St Andrews very interesting - lots of craft shops, not too touristy, and small enough to wander about, reading about its history. For ocena buffs, St A has a small harbor - many whale-watching tours in season.

We loved our stay at The Montague Rose. The room was beautiful and quiet. We had a very restful sleep. The quality of the food was excellent. The owners were very friendly. This B & B is a gem and it suites the small town of St Andrews. There wasn't anything that we didn't enjoy during our visit at the Montague Rose.

We went to St Andrews for a weekend getaway. Joe and Rose-Anne made us feel like part of the family. The room was spacious, had wonderful decor and the jacuzzi was the icing on the cake. the breakfast was excellent. A short walk to main street. We will certainly return.

This is a lovely B & B with all the amenities. We stayed at the Montague Rose for a weekend away and we could not have asked for a better place in St Andrews. Joe and Rose-Anne are the perfect host and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We stayed in the Ballyhaines room. The bed is extremely comfortable with beautiful soft sheets. The room is spacious and very clean. We especially liked the large shower with easy access in and out.
In the morning we enjoyed a delicious hot breakfast before heading out. This B & B is within easy walking distance to all the shops and pubs on main street. We highly recommend the

We have just returned from a short visit to St. Andrews and a two day stay at The Montague Rose B&B. This lovely home built in 1859 has been beautifully restored and tastefully updated with all modern conveniences. The house sits on a very large lot in the middle of St Andrews within a short walk of the main street, Algonguin Hotel and the Bay of Fundy. For those looking for a quiet retreat, this is it. Our room was wonderful with one of the most comfortable beds ever! Breakfasts were delicious and hearty enough to carry us through much of the day. They were also different each morning. And the coffee was great! Our hosts Joe and Rose-Anne no doubt make all their guests feel as welcome and relaxed as we were. Thank you for the opportunity to visit your wonderful home.

Room Tip: The rooms in the front of the house are very large and have a great view of the main street and look...

My husband and I stayed here last summer for our anniversary. This was our first time at a B&B and I must say it was excellent. Very clean, great breakfast and hospitality. I would recommend this place to anyone!! My husband and I plan on going back this summer for another visit.
