Although we had bad weather the crew on the Jolly Breeze made this trip memorable and comfortable. The experience of being on the Jolly Breeze sailboat was part of what we were looking forward to. We will continue to talk about this for some time as we experienced the difficult weather. It was quite the adventure. We had to turn back and finish the trip early but the experience was still memorable. We were refunded our money because of the circumstances. Additionally, they served breakfast with fresh fruit and bagels, coffee, hot chocolate. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We hope to return another time and will definitely go with Jolly Breeze.

I am glad that you enjoyed the experience out on the water aboard the Jolly Breeze despite the inclement weather. While we cannot control the weather, we do try to provide the best experience possible to our guests. It is a one of a kind vessel built in New Zealand and has safely traveled the oceans through all types of seas and weather. Hope to see you again soon, on a sunny day perhaps!

Wanted the experience of a sailboat and to see Passamaquoddy Bay from the water. Sails out of St. Andrews, which is a lovely town on the bay in NB, CA. Although there were no children on our trip they do a pirate theme trip for kids. Longer time on the water than if you go out of Campobello Island but as I wanted to see more of Passamaquoddy it served its purpose. Seas were a bit rough but it was exhilarating being out on the water. Only saw fin whales on our trip, but lets face it that is out of their control. Apparently there weren't as many whales in Fundy this year.

We are glad to be able share with you the beauty of the ship, the islands and the Finback Whales of the Passamaquoddy Bay and the Bay of Fundy. The whale sightings do change year to year, day to day and even hour to hour. We strive to show you all that the Bay has to offer during your trip aboard the Jolly Breeze!

A fun ride. I tend to get seasick but had no problem on this vessel. We saw a few fin fin whales, one fairly close to the boat. The free homemade pea soup was excellant! I was concerned because there is smoking in the back of the boat, but I had no problem at all-the wind just blows it away. It's great for kids. They get to hoist the sails and get their faces painted. The crew was very pleasant and friendly. It was however, sometimes hard to hear the crew explain about the whales because the wind carried their voices away. I would do tis trip again. Dress in layers, with a windbreaker or raincoat as your top layer. It was cold and misty when we started out and then warmed up a bit later on. Ladies, make sure you have your hair back because it blows all over the place!

We are so happy that you enjoyed your trip on the Jolly Breeze and got to experience a whale close up the boat. It can be cool on the water so we do have blankets and jackets on board for those who are chilled. One challenge on the water is that the wind can carry away the voice of the guides. We do use a mixture of microphone with speakers, small group education and individual questions are encouraged. There is whale baleen ('tooth'), krill (food), starfish, crabs etc that are brought around for further discussion and education.

Took the Jolly Breeze while visiting New Brunswick. The tour was okay, it was windy, but sunny. Bring warm clothes, though blankets are provided. It was a long sail ( not a sail at all, but the motor was running and fumes were wafting all through the boat). Saw a whale briefly in the water twice, for 1 second at a time. Also saw porpoises and seals.

Found the captain to be a little " rough", smoking, swearing and commenting that doing this trip everyday gets boring and that he would rather be sailing! Interesting comments!

Soup was provided, and you get a bit of education on the sail back to the dock, though using a microphone or intercoms would have been better due to the wind and noise of the boat.

It was an average experience. I suppose it would be lovely on a warm or hot summer day with a lot of friends!

Glad that you enjoyed the trip overall. The winds in July and August tend to warmer and lighter than in the fall. Admittedly, viewing the whales on a day with stronger winds can be more challenging as there can be more chop on the water. We always do our best with what the weather that day provides and were glad to be able to show you a whale in the Bay of Fundy. The captain is has been with us for 8 years and is a true local mariner having grown up on the water, on boats and including lobster fishing and urchin diving. We will certainly discuss with him avoiding the casual or coarse language mentioned. He is a great story teller and comedian for those adults who wish to sit at the table at the back of the boat.

Second time on board, no whales again. Disappointed by his and the fact that guarantee is no longer offered. I understand this isn't owners fault and the captain and crew make the trip enjoyable and are very friendly. Dress warm or at least layers as it gets chilly, even on a hot day, out on the water. We enjoyed the trip on board the tall ship, just wish we could have seen whales.

Glad you enjoy the tours on the Jolly Breeze. We are sorry that you did not see a whale on your trip out. We do average between 90 to 97% success rate on seeing whales depending on the year.
We have a free return policy as well with coupons available at the office at the end of the trip.
It is cool on the Bay of Fundy. We do have jackets, blankets, heated cabin if needed. Guests are reminded to bring sweaters, jackets, and pants are better than short for most of the trips.
Thank you for complimenting the captain and the crew on their service and friendliness!
