Trickle Creek Lodge
Ranked #2 of 5 Hotels in Kimberley
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed March 16, 2010

Since the hotel opened we have been going to the Trickle Creek Lodge each year for our annual ski vacation and it never fails to please. It has the best location out of all of the accomodations in the area and it is the only true ski in/ski out location. The ski lockers right at the hill doors make light work of stowing your gear. The hotel suites are spacious and bright and it the hillside balconies make apres ski very enjoyable. This year further enhancements of flat panel 42" TV's and new linens have been added. The place is spotless and prior housekeeping issues (see older reviews) have definatley become a thing of the past. For golfers the hotel is also very near the Trickle Creek golf course and is also a pleasant half hour stroll to downtown Kimberley (the town is in the process of building a walking trail that goes right from the hotel). We would recommend this hotel for all ages and all interests

My husband and I have been staying (occasionally with our children) at this hotel off and on for about 6 years now. After some staffing changes were made things seem to run very well. It's a great place if you like to stay for an extended time and prepare your own meals (great kitchen). The pool and hot tubs outside are nice, only one problem, they close too early (10:00 pm). If you want to watch movies, bring your own set-up. They do not have any movies to offer either on a pay channel. Kelsey's is pretty good to eat at. I actually don't reccommend purchasing the breakfast there......10 bucks per person.....with a coffee maker and toaster in your room, bagles would do just fine.

It would appear this lodge was originally built and operated as a Marriott Residence Inn as the room configuration seems consistent with that of other Residence Inns we have stayed at. Trickle Creek is a modern facility located at the base of the Kimberley ski resort which is located approximately 4 km from the municipality of Kimberley BC.

The room had a queen-size bed outfitted with quality linens. Adjacent was a single basin sink and a separate bathroom with a tub/shower combination and toilet. The lounge area was furnished with a pull-out sofa, dresser, desk and chair and a gas fireplace. There was an adjacent very small balcony with two chairs and small convenience table. The kitchen was furnished with the full compliment of refrigerator, stove, sink, dishwasher, microwave and a small dining table for two. The requisite small appliances were also supplied. The unit also had a double closet. There was wired internet service in the suite for which we were not charged. Underground parking is available and there is a very nice guest laundry.

Kelsey’s restaurant in the lodge served basic fare. The menu may be more extensive during the ski season. There is also a separate fireplace lounge and dining area right off the main lobby where a full breakfast menu was offered.

Trickle Creek Lodge is an excellent hospitality venue in this very beautiful section of British Columbia.

We stayed in Kimberley for 2 nights in August at the Trickle Creek Lodge. Construction in the town was something else coming in but avoided it after that. We had a good size one-bedroom suite with balcony. The view was not great as it faced the parking lot which seemed to be under construction in parts. However, we found if we sat down the view improved as the wooden beam of the balcony obstructed the parking lot view and we could see the mountains. We booked through an online agency as they had better rates. I called the hotel to see if they could match the rates but they could not. I felt for the price and considering it was off-season they could have included the breakfast in the rate. Front desk service was nice and friendly. We had a good visit and noticed that the hotel dropped their rates a few days before our visit. Enyoyed the restaurants in the area especially the Bistro.

We had a one bedroom suite at the lodge and it was fantastic. The suite was immaculate, had a great kitchen, and a lovely view from the deck. The staff at the lodge were extremely friendly and went out of their way to ensure a great stay. We plan on staying here again on our way home.

Having read some of the reviews on here I was a little apprehensive about this hotel. However, they turned out to be wildly inaccurate.

When we arrived the check in was very quick with all the paperwork pre printed for our arrival and just the right amonut of information to get us started. The staff were very polite and helpful. The hotels public areas are spacious, clean and comfortable.

The room itself was spotless and very well equipped. The double bed was very large and comfortable with a large sitting area. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with everything you’d need to cook a three course gourmet meal including a large fridge freezer, large oven and dishwasher along with a good selection of cooking pots and utensils. The coffee and tea facilities were refreshed daily along with the cleaning of the room.

We also had the use of a ski locker, safety deposit box, high speed internet (Ethernet cable require) and swimming pool (with towels) all at no extra charge.

The ski locker are situated to the rear of the hotel and open up right onto the ski area. This really is ski to door.

If, like me, you were concerned by some of the reviews on here, don’t be. It was difficult if not impossible to find fault with this hotel.
