“Pretty Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

Even though the weather wasn't the greatest, it was still a pretty place to walk. The boardwalk along the lake is very relaxing, and I imagine the gardens in summer would be beautiful

“A great beach for the kids!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2012

My daughter loves this beach, the swimming area is great. With the new upgrades to the park you can easily spend an afternoon with the kids without breaking the wallet!

“This park has something for everyone and boaters welcome!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2012

This beach/park/port is one of the best. There is a board walk that runs the entire waterfront. As well the Millennium Trail - a paved trail that runs right through the park so you can roller blade, bike, walk, run.....It also connects to the Lightfoot Trail which is 15km for people who want to get a good work out in. As you stroll along the boardwalk there are lots of benches to sit and read, chat, relax and take in beautiful Lake Couchiching. The park itself has lots of green space and gardens. With loads of picnic tables. A newly constructed playground in the centre of the park (that has wheelchair access), washrooms by the beach and at the port. Lifeguards at the main beach and a small area beach that is not maned by lifeguards. Large area to play soccer, Frisbee... There are two large gazebos that you can rent for large events. At the far end of the Park is a scateboard/bmx park with rails and ramps...The Rotary has an original mini steam train that goes around the Park on the weekends – too cute. Lush gardens and many historical statues, art and historical plaques. The largest statue being the Champlain Monument that is a 36 foot high bronze built in 1915. The Aquaduct is an outdoor stage and every Friday night they have free music to go and enjoy. There is a fishing pier for those that would like to catch bass, pike and if your lucky perch. The Island Princess is docked at this park and for a nominal charge you can take the double decker boat on a tour of the lake. There is a bar if you care for a beverage while you take the cruise. A boat launch is also available with larger parking for trailers across the street. Two free parking areas by the park. The Park is also located at the foot of the downtown. Easy to take a stroll and have lunch on a patio, do some shopping or enjoy all the art on the main street. This park and beach has something to offer everyone. In the winter there is an outdoor skating rink in the park and a snowmobile trail. Many events are held in the Park and downtown that you can join in Classic Car show, Canada day, Boat show, Winter Festival. I love this beach/park.

“A Nice Day Trip.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

We arrived at the beach at almost mid-day. It was not too busy. We did not stay for a full day as it was not needed. If in the area, consider Wasaga (not too far) instead as the beach is MUCH bigger and there are other things to do. Most people we met there were from the area with young kids.
